But who will win? HBO says Pacquiao:

Though the 31-year-old Pacquiao is two years older and has had 19 more fights over five more years, Pacquiao is the better preserved fighter. As long as Pacquiao respects Cotto’s hook, he has the skill set to prevail by unanimous decision and set the stage for a showdown with Mayweather.”

Two key factors you will hear in tonight’s prebroadcast analysis – speed and the ropes. Pacquiao must stay off the ropes and Cotto must be able to contain Manny’s speed.

“Manny promised me he won’t get caught on the ropes. There was a moment against De La Hoya when he was in and it scared the hell out of me” says Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer. ” If Manny delivers on that promise, Cotto will no answer to his speed – speed that I think will win this fight.”

Pacquiao has been in the ring since age 16. Now in his 14th year as pro, the 30 year old is a national hero in his native Philippines.

Freddie Roach wants Pacquaio to fight Marquez. “I want one more shot. I want Manny to beat him so they will stop whining about the other fights and just shut up.” But first, Pacquaio has to beat Cotto tonight. But will he?

Cotto is a former WBA welterweight world champion, earning the title in 2006 and defending it four times. At age 23, Cotto won the WBO junior welterweight world title and defended that 6 times. Pacquiao’s last fight was against former IBF jr. welterweight and WBA welterweight world champion Ricky Hatton in May.
