Jefferson City Hostage!

JEFFERSON CITY, MO Breaking News – A hostage situation in Jefferson City is across from the Governor’s mansion. State offices are on lockdown.
Here is the latest from Jefferson City.
Law enforcement are evacuating downtown buildings near the Governor’s mansion after a hostage situation erupted at 10 am local time. The location is an alarm company’s offices, located on the 5th floor of a busy downtown structure.
Traffic is currently blocked in a radius. Officials confirm the building does NOT contain offices of Jay Nixon. The building does house the Public Services Commission.
Local press says the location address is believed to be 200 Madison St.
UPDATE:
Capt Tim Hull confirms no hostage situation occurred and all law enforcement response has ended.
So how did this all happen? Capt Mike Smith of the Jefferson City PD calls it a potential false alarm. A woman in the building “thought” she heard over the intercom “hostage”. She called the building’s security, they called police, police called SWAT, helicopters, and snipers.
In the end, she heard wrong. Crazy.
Police are holding a press conference at 4pm to explain how this mess unfolded.
