PHOTOS! Pictures of Gretchen Rossi on The Dirty were shown on Real Housewives of OC last night. If Gretchen Rossi’s photos from website The Dirty on Real Housewives’ premiere seemed peculiar, it certainly represented a stark change in reality programming.

As covered on LALATE in April, Gretchen Rossi during the season break of season 4 had a shocking surprise. Suddenly in April pictures of Rossi appeared on the website “the Dirty”. Immediately fallout began with reports that Rossi’s counsel sought removal of those pictures. Thereafter evidence of the Costa Mesa Police Department’s involvement.

While the story would eventually die down, the pictures are still online, not just hidden across obscure blogs, but the leading result of image searches for Rossi even today in November.

But last night, the pictures came to a new home - season 5 premiere of Real Housewives of OC. Not only were the pictures referenced, but the pictures were shown with screengrabs. Suddenly reality tv got a bit more real.

In fact, normally when you watch a reality show, starts don’t reference that they are actually on a show within the program. Last night, it happened time and time again.

It started early on when Tamra Barney told Vicki Gunvalson that she didn’t like Gretchen Rossi. Tamra and Vicki met up for lunch to slam Rossi and all they talked about were the pictures … and that “cord”. Clearly the storyline was heading one path - showing Tamra just a bit too concerned about what Gretchen does.

During the lunch, the two referenced they are Housewives, Gretchen is dating a guy whose dated other Housewives, and that Tamra didn’t want the public to see her associated alongside Gretchen and her pictures.

But it all came to a head at dinner set by Lynne Curtin at the St Regis. There Tamra goes at it, saying she doesn’t want to be depicted on tv alongside someone like Gretchen (this of course, as she sits at a dinner table alongside Gretchen). Tamra says Gretchen has a horrible reputation, while it’s Tamra who looks like she is aruging the same point over and over again. Gretchen remains withdrawn, her makeup and hair in place, while Tamara starts to unravel. From there the pictures are shown, several times. Jeana just eats, and tells everyone else to eat, and Lynne just seems like she wants to shout “enough about you and your pictures, let’s talk about my cuffs”.
