On Wednesday, they took a DNA sample of Ramirez to compare to DNA obtained at the crime scene. They report the DNA matched. Leung was a 9 year old from Tenderloin, San Francisco.

Mei Leung marks Ramirez’s first death. Until now, the June 28 1984 death of Jennie Vincow of Los Angeles’ Glassell park was believed to be the first in his serial terror.

Ramirez’s name the Night Stalker was created by press in the 1980s and certainly fearful to anyone young in LA at the time. Ramirez committed 30 felonies and 13 murders. His execution date is not yet set.

Mei’s mother today refused to comment.
