Lil Wayne to Prison - Jail for Lil Wayne?
Is Lil Wayne going to prison? Questions remain if Lil Wayne is set to serve jail time after just pleading guilty to gun possession for a 2007 New York case.
Moments ago, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possessions. Terms of the believed plea agreement have not been released. But reports put Li Wayne’s potential jail time as high as one year and as low as 8 months Thursday morning. Lil Wayne prison term comes from events on his tour bus in NYC in 2007. The trial was set to start in 2010. But reports say a DNA test linked Lil Wayne to the weapon.
On July 22, 2007, Lil Wayne’s bus was pulled over right in the middle of Manhattan - on Columbus Circle. Police said they smelt illegal substance smoke. When officers came up to the bus, police claim Lil Wayne tossed a Louis Vuitton bag that had in it a gun. Lil Wayne’s attorneys claimed over 1 dozen people were on board.
Wayne also faces felony weapon charges in Arizona from a 2008 arrest.
No comment by the rapper or prosecutors.
