Detroit Marathon Deaths!

UPDATE: More details have been released about those Detroit Marathon 2009 deaths today. In releasing results, Detroit Marathon officials say two deaths occured during the marathon and one during the half marathon.
The half marathon runner was 26. The two marathon runners who died were 35 and 65 year old males. Reports had said the marathon deaths came between 9 and 9:30 AM, toward the end race. Some reports said the 65 year old male fell and suffered head injury while the other’s cause of death was not released.
Race officials say the following about their marathon:

* Marathon for wheelers and hand cyclists (26.2 miles)
* Half-marathon run (13.1 miles)
* Half-marathon competitive and non-competitive walks (13.1 miles)
* Five-person team relays – distances vary from 3 to 7 miles (26.2 miles)
