Twin Cities Marathon 2009 Results!

Results are coming in on the 2009 Twin Cities Marathon that drew 3617 runners from 21 countries. The 2009 Twin Cities Marathon was led by 31% first time marathon runners representing every U.S. state.
Making the run today includes Special Olympics Minnesota athlete and coach James Chalmers, 37. Chalmers will make the 2009 marathon on behalf of Special Olympics Minnesota and athletes with intellectual disabilities.
“I want everyone to know how great the organization is. I’m taking my resting days very seriously. It’s important to give your muscles time to rest. Special Olympics enriches the mind, heart, soul and body.”
The Twin Cities Marathon 26.2-mile course starts at 8 a.m. near the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis, and ends at the State Capitol in St. Paul.
“You can’t always get over the mountain top that you want to get over,” said Chalmers, “but if you get halfway there, that’s okay.”
