Stafon Johnson Injury Update!

BREAKING UPDATE – USC’s star football player Stafon Johnson has been injured in the school’s gym. Stafon Johnson’s injury prompted emergency surgery at 2 PM PST Monday.
As of 7:30 PM PST, here is the latest in the Stafon Johnson injury.
Chris Carlisle, USC’s strength and conditioning coach, issued a statement tonight that a bar slip onto Stafon’s neck / throat is exceptionally rare:
“I’ve seen players have the bar slip and fall onto their chest, but never in my 25 years of coaching have I heard of someone dropping a bar on their throat”
Coach Pete Carroll says of the slip “an unfortunate accident …. our thoughts and prayers are with Stafon.”
Stafon was on the USC weight room’s bench press Monday when something went wrong. Reports say theĀ bar got free from Johnson’s hands and came to rest on his neck; he began spitting blood; immediately officials rushed him to California Hospital Medical at 2 pm.
There Stafon Johnson reportedly went into surgery. As of 6:30 pm, a family rep said they are still waiting for a statement from the doctors, not indicating if surgery was completed. Stafon Johnson’s mother Kim Mallory is at the hospital.
