Indonesia Tsunami Update!

UPDATE – Indonesia tsunami warnings following the 7.6 earthquake today September 30, 2009 have been canceled. No tsunami in Indonesia was recorded.
A nominal Indonesia wave under 1 foot in height was documented prior to the cancellation by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The alert had previously warned residents of Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malasia.
The cancellation reads Wednesday:
THIS BULLETIN IS FOR ALL AREAS OF THE INDIAN OCEAN. … THE TSUNAMI WATCH IS CANCELLED …
SEA LEVEL READINGS INDICATE THAT A SIGNIFICANT TSUNAMI WAS NOT GENERATED. THEREFORE THE TSUNAMI WATCH ISSUED BY THIS CENTER IS NOW CANCELLED.

A Sumatra earthquake hit the Indonesia region Wednesday morning after 5 a.m. local time . The quake was deep, 49.7 miles below the earth’s surface.
Meantime the death toll of Tuesday’s Samoa quake is still rising, from 34 persons Tuesday night to now 84 persons Wednesday morning. Reports put 22 dead in American Samoa, 55 in Samoa, and 7 in Tonga.
That quake hit closest to Hihifo Tonga and Pago Pago.
