Serena Williams Fine No Suspension!

Serena Williams was issued a fine and no suspension Sunday for her outburst. Serena Williams was not suspended Sunday but was levied a $10,500 fine for her conduct during that semi finals match.
If you missed the video, here it is again:
The Tournament referee said in a statement Sunday:
“The maximum permissible on site fine of $10,000 has been levied for unsportsmanlike conduct against Serena Williams for her on court behaviour during the women’s semi-final.
“Ms Williams also will be fined $500 for racket abuse which took place at the end of the first set of the same match.”
Williams had said to the line judge:
“I swear to God I’m… going to take this ball and shove it down your… throat, you hear that? I swear to God. You better be glad… glad that I’m not, I swear.”
Wiliams went on to shout:
“I did not threaten to kill you. Are you serious?
“An apology from me? How many people yell at linespeople? I see it happening all the time. I don’t know how many times I have seen that happen. I am a professional. I’m not the beggar, like, ‘Please, please, please, let me have another chance,’ because it was the rules and I play by the rules.”
United States and WTA Tour chief Stacey Allaster said of Williams in today’s statement:
“No matter what the circumstances, no player should be allowed to engage in such behaviour without suffering consequences. I have spoken with the USTA about this matter and I agree with the action they have taken.
“As a role model, it’s important for a leader like Serena to step forward and recognise her behaviour last night was unacceptable.”
At a press conference after the match, Williams didn’t back down. But since, she has issued the following
statement:
“Last night everyone could truly see the passion I have for my job. Now that I have had time to gain my composure, I can see that while I don’t agree with the unfair line call, in the heat of battle I let my passion and emotion get the better of me and as a result handled the situation poorly.
“I would like to thank my fans and supporters for understanding that I am human and I look forward to continuing the journey, both professionally and personally, with you all as I move forward and grow from this experience.”
Move forward however is what an investigation reportedly is now doing with Williams. Others including John McEnroe have said Williams be suspended. Today’s statement indicates the following:
“The grand slam rule book also allows for an investigation to be conducted… to determine if the behaviour of Ms Williams warrants consideration as a ‘major offence’ for which additional penalties can be imposed.
“This investigation has now begun.”

You see people all the time that get into the heat of the moment, and when they feel that they were treated unfairly they get caught up. This is what I call a human being, and honestly I think some fines are just over the top. Sometimes I really feel that some people are money hungry and there are so many things the world could worry about, but they choose to give 10,000 dollar fines, rather than giving that money to people who really needs it.

Unbelieveable behavior, she should
be suspended. She does not act like
a role model. She parades around
in a thong on the beach, can you picture this for a exhibitionist of the
worst kind, because she knows she
is being phographed. It is to bad she
could not apologize to the linesperson. She is very arrogant.
It is always about her!

What doesn her wearing a thong on the beach have to do with this situation? Socialist these days….. She should apologize on the court to the linesperson before the beginning of her doubles match or not be allowed to play.
