
UPDATE – the Station Fire (aka the La Cañada Flintridge fire) has new evacuations Saturday. The Station Fire remains 5% contained as a temperatures now at 3 pm PST remaining blistering hot. With no break in the next hours from this staggering heat index, movement to further contain the fire is not expected for Saturday.
The fire as watched all week on LALATE is heading toward – but not yet threatening – Altadena. Also of concern is the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Mt. Wilson – the communication hub for southland broadcasters.
By Saturday morning, acres burned had risen to 5000 with the count on homes threatened now at 1800.
Mandatory evacuations are in place for homes on: Starlight Crest Drive, Greenridge Drive, Forest Green Drive, and Ridge Court, and those on the La Cañada Flintridge Golf Course.
An Evacuation Center is set up at La Cañada High School. The school is located at 4463 Oak Grove Drive.
