As broke earlier on LALATE, Favre’s mom Bonita tells press today that Brett will play Friday against Kansas City. Favre is returning to the Vikings after 17 seasons with the Packers, one with the Jets. Bonita tells press:

“He is going. I have mixed emotions, but I have always loved to watch him play. This time, however, I thought he would stay retired and stay home. I guess he could not do it.

“He told me he would always wonder ‘what if?’ I told him I supported him.”
