Florida Gators’ Urban Meyer has a new contract – a $24 million contract! Urban Meyer’s contract makes him SEC’s highest paid coach at $4 million over six years.

And if $4 million is not enough, don’t worry. Meyer’s contract comes with bonuses that could bring Urban’s check above and beyond that.

Meyer issued a statement moments ago:

“I continue to be very thankful and appreciative for everything the University of Florida and the athletic program has done for me and my family. Dr. [Bernie] Machen, Jeremy Foley and the community make this a special place, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Meyer’s contract expires 2014. The highest college football coach overall still remains Peter Carroll at $4.4 million.
