Unlike Banks – that can shuffling out their employees early today for their liking , and to cut costs and beat the holiday traffic rush – the Post Office is not afforded that flexibility.

But it’s a big more confusing than that. Post Offices will be open all day July 3, normal hours. July 4 they will be closed as a federal holiday. And Monday service is back to normal. However, Federal guidelines (listed below) allows other federal institutions to elect July 3 as a holiday for its employees if they wish.
