UPDATE #2 – The Memorial will be at Staples Center

Moments ago the Jackson family confirmed that Michael Jackson’s public memorial will be at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Staples Center featured Jackson on stage the night before he died, rehearsing for his upcoming O2 concert dates.

The Staples Center Michael Jackson Memorial will be TUESDAY July 7, 2009 starting at 10 AM.

Mounting frustrations with neighbors of Neverland Ranch have reportedly prompted a considered, but not yet confirmed, change of Michael Jackson’s Memorial. Neverland neighbors reportedly do not want the memorial there. The ranch as profiled on LALATE is on a two lane road, not anywhere near major highways.

Reports Wednesday said law enforcement were not brought in during the planning process of the Neverland memorial that was suggested to bring Jackson from Los Angeles to the estate located north of Santa Barbara.

Now moments ago the Los Angeles Times reports a scrambling is in place to have the memorial not at Neverland but at Staples.
