MAP! Here is a map of Comoros where a Yemen Airline crash has occurred. The Yemenia Air plane crash near Mitsamiouli of an Airbus 310 comes as the flight was carrying 142 passengers and 11 crew members.

The plane has crashed into the Indian Ocean, closest to Comoros, and possibly Mitsamiouli, confirms a senior government official and a Yemenia Air official moments ago.

The exact location is still not known. The plane has yet to be located. Officials tell press it could be near Mitsamiouli, says Comoros’ Vice President Idi Nadhoim.

Rescuers are following the plane’s flight path to located the crash within the hour. Comoros is close to Madagascar, Yemen, and east of Africa. Nadhoim tells press he does not yet know if there are any survivors.

Passenger lists have not been released, nor emergency contact numbers. Even worse is this comment by a reportedly Comoran police official:

“We really have no sea rescue capabilities”.

Jon and Kate Plus 8 has a 10 Year retrospective episode tonight. Jon and Kate 10 Years premieres
on TLC before the show returns in August.

In related news, both Jon and Kate have agreed to not release statements to the media. At least not now.

“During this very difficult time we will be working to focus solely on the needs of our family. This includes no longer commenting publicly or reacting to media stories and speculation.”

The comment is a bit ironic. Why would the ratings luvin’ Gosselins talk to the media while their show is on hiatus? Explain that.

And then there is another concern. Within literally 10 days, the Gosselin fascination has expired.

Two reasons – 1. bigger stories. From Farrah Fawcett to Michael Jackson’s death, Jon and Kate and their went back burner instantly. 2. What else is left to be told? The media frenzy over Jon and Kate was speculation waiting for confirmation. Once confirmation was given that these two are over, what other story is left that is fascinating? Their lives as single people? Questionable. Do people really care about an Ed Hardy obsessed  ex-husband running around New York as a single guy after months of allegations of a mistress? Probably not.

So when the Gosselins return with new episodes, will people tune in with the numbers you saw in June? LALATE predicts the show will maintain strong numbers when it returns, but nothing like its June numbers. Unless there is something fascinating we don’t know already, the rest of the season could seem like a very long boring third act.

Who will be in charge of Michael Jackson’s estate? Michael Jackson’s estate was one of two Jackson family motions brought today by Michael’s mother Katherine.

On the children, Katherine’s motion was granted; on the estate, it was denied.

Katherine Jackson in Los Angeles Superior Court today was granted temporary guardianship of Michael Jackson’s children – Prince I, Prince II (Blanket), and Paris. But during the same ruling, Judge Mitchell Beckloff reportedly denied Jackson’s request as temporary guardian of the children’s estate.

Over the weekend, the mother of Prince I and Paris, Debbie Rowe, said in a shocking interview that Michael Jackson was not the biological father of their two kids. Katherine maintains she should have custody of the kids. Rowe has yet to make clear if she wishes custody. Rowe’s attorney is Marta Almli who issued the following statement:

“Ms. Rowe’s only thoughts at this time have been regarding the devastating loss Michael’s family has suffered. Ms. Rowe requests that Michael’s family, and particularly the children, be spared such harmful, sensationalist speculation and that they be able to say goodbye to their loved one in peace.”

Is Patricia Mauceri being replaced by Saundra Santiago as Carlotta Vega on One Life to Live?

Patricia Mauceri on One Life to Live has played Carlotta Vega for approximately two years. But a new report today claims that Mauceri will be replaced Santiago.

Really?

Saundra Santiago fans will remember her from Guiding Light and a previous stop on One Life to Live. The report claims the casting change stems from conflicts over storylines pertaining to characters Kyle (Brett Claywell) and Fish (Scott Evans).

No comment by either actor, no confirmation from the show.

VIDEO! Watch YouTube video of the Dallas high speed car chase today June 29, 2009. The Car chase blanketed Dallas news today and then later captivated a nation with one of the wildest high speed pursuits for 2009.

The chase that went up and down 635 in Dallas ended in Garland. The pursuit started after a routine traffic stop (don’t they always). The driver refused to pull over after running a red light.

Shortly thereafter, law enforcement brought in cars for the pursuit – 11 cars to be exact. At one point, the car chase flipping.

Reports as to the driver’s identity and condition are currently unknown. The pursuit lasted 90 minutes after starting in Mesquite, a section of Dallas.
