Kristina Higgins won Miss Georgia on Saturday. By today, she quit. Why? Higghins reportedly “said she stepped down because her responsibilities as a middle school would not leave her time she would need to serve as Miss Georgia.”

In her replacement will be Emily Cook, a law student. Cook is 22 and is slated to attend the University of Georgia’s Law School and then this Miss America pageant in January.
