SC Governor Mark Sanford went missing because of a mistress! Mark Sanford’s affair Argentina woman was confessed by the missing and reappearing governor at a press conference moments ago.

LALATE broke to you Wednesday morning that South Carolina Governor would hold a press conference to explain why he keeps on going missing, the most recent since last Thursday.

Honestly, LALATE thought this was going to be a routine “my job is stressful” story. But when press got Mark at the airport Tuesday, and Sanford said he had been in Buenos Aires because “I wanted to do something exotic.… It’s a great city”, that immediately raised an eyebrow.

Exotic? What’s with that word selection?

Apparently very exotic. Sanford told press moments ago that in Buenos Aires with him was his mistress. Oh, and if you think this story can’t be anymore strange, or exotic, his wife told press last week when he disappeared, failing to appear on Fathers Day, that this was fine, he was working on a book. But Mark Sanford reveals today that his wife has known of the affair for five months. An open book?

In fact, his staff said he was off hiking in the mountains when questioned by press. That of course was always untrue. The person coming clean today was Sanford himself:

“I’ve let down a lot of people, that’s the bottom line”.

Sandford said the affair started 1 year ago, his wife knew the last 5 months, and he will not resign as governor. He will resign as head of the Republican Governors Association.

Sanford has four kids.

Critics are saying you don’t disappear to clear your head, repeatedly, especially as Governor. Sanford missed work Monday and Tuesday, Father’s Day this weekend, and got rid of her State security force, ditching them, on Thursday. The last known whereabouts was on Thursday. His wife says he wanted to time to “get away from the kids”.

No, he wanted something else.

He even cut off lines of communications! His phones were turned off, he wasn’t responding to messages. His office told NBC: “[I]t’s not uncommon for him to go out of pocket for a few days at a time to clear his head.”
