Due to server overload, the official website for Jenny Sanford on the SC state governor’s site has gone missing like her husband, moments ago. When he went missing, why did Mark’s staff misrepresent his whereabouts?
Jenny Sanford’s official bio with the Nation Governor’s Association reads as follows:
After graduating from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, she worked for an investment banking firm, Lazard Freres & Co. in New York City, where she became a vice president in mergers and acquisitions, focusing on media and communications companies.
When the Sanfords moved to the Charleston area, the first lady balanced raising a family, being involved in the community, and managing political campaigns for her husband, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. Beginning in 1994, Mrs. Sanford has successfully managed her husband’s three congressional races and his gubernatorial campaign in 2002 and his reelection in 2006.
At the Governor’s Mansion, Mrs. Sanford has reorganized operations to significantly reduce costs for the benefit of South Carolina’s taxpayers. In 2003, with the help of the Mansion Commission and Foundation, she oversaw the refurbishment of Lace House —the official guest house of the Governor’s Mansion. The successful reopening of Lace House for rental and public use has helped generate more than $150,000 in funds needed to support the historic properties on the Mansion complex grounds. Mrs. Sanford is passionate about the role that good nutrition and regular physical activity play in helping to prevent cancer and other chronic diseases. In 2005, the first lady launched the Healthy South Carolina Challenge, a results-based initiative designed to help South Carolinians quit smoking, eat healthier, and start exercising.
The first lady currently serves on the Hollings Cancer Center Advisory Committee at the Medical University of South Carolina and on the Site Advisory Council for the Drayton Hall Historical Property in Charleston. She also has served as a board member of the Coastal Community Foundation and the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital Advisory Fund.

Mark Sanford failed to show up at home on Fathers Day. Instead he choice to show up in Buenos Aires with his mistress. Says Mark:

“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” the saying goes. Mrs. Sanford knew about the affair. Could it be she figured out where he went? Did she suggest to Lt. Governor Bauer that he should inquire about the whereabouts of Gov. Sanford? Of course, the Lt. Gov. does have a right “to know”. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know who leaked the e-mails. Of course, there is no proof to any of this. Just curious.

Jenny appears to be a beautiful woman and she must be very hurt and betrayed by the affair of her husband
She has given this man four handsome sons and he fells the need to betray her for another womans’ affections. Women that have affairs with married men should be held accountable too. If a woman has any morals at all she would not bother with a married man. Woman who have affairs knowingly with a married man should be the ones scorned and be made to wear the letter “A” on their person when in public so all would know they committed adultery! Shame on any woman that involves herself with a married man.

Jenny Sanford:
She should not be so quick to allow him back with her, after he just spent the weekend with his mistress. How can a man act like his mistress is so much more important than his children, even on Father’s Day?
Governor Mark Sanford:
I have watched and listened to the governor’s televised apology. I am not convinced that he is really sorry for what he did. It seems he is sorry, only for getting caught. If a man cannot control himself, and manage his family properly, he should not be in a position to oversee the public. If he really loved his family, and was truly sorry, he should step down and take care of his relationship with his wife and children.
Even if he is able to stay in his position, he should make his wife and family a higher priority than his job. He should seek good counsel to heal his heart, soul, and marriage.

Sounds like Mrs. Sanford should be governor. She ran his campaigns and has many worthy projects that she has managed. She also has her act together.

I agree with Suzanne that the governor is not truly sorry for what he did but just becasue he was caught and trying to do damge control. And I admire the first lady has her priniciple and integrity to ask him to leave. The first lady of SC is a breath of fresh air and she should be the governor and run for get a political career. I wish their marriage surrive, but the governor has to be truly sorry for what he did and want to save the family not for the purpose of his political career.

This beautiful and intelligent woman deserves far better than a man who carelessly throws away their marriage in this ridiculous way. Adding insult to injury, his immaturity
and selfishness is clearly apparent to the whole world when he labels another woman as his ’soul mate’. Call your attorney Jennifer, kick this idiot out of your life and let him have his ’soul mate’. There are any number of good men out there who would help you get over and eventually forget the mistake you made in marrying a man unworthy of your love and devotion. Heck. I’d like be first in line.

Sanford is a degenerate–it’s really that simple. Let him deal with his adolescent nonsense on his own time. And to help him with the issue of accountability, a full audit of his expenditures ought to be conducted by both the legislature and law enforcement and an outside auditor.

Yes, he’s an idiot…and yes, such an intelligent, beautiful, spiritual woman does indeed deserve better than that. But she wants her children to grow up with the mom and dad they started with, not a broken family.
We all make mistakes, maybe not as ridiculously stupid as Mark’s although I’ve come close. But since I’m not in the public eye few people knew and I was able to recover without the effort that Mark will need to exert for his recovery.
Jenny is showing what she is made of, and let me tell you, she is truly made of the “right stuff”. She is digging deep to find forgiveness, even though she has been made a fool of by her husband in front of the world. She is putting her family before her own pride so those four boys will be able to spend the time they need with their father, not be shuffled back and forth between different house for weekends and summers and whatnot.
They may never get back to where they were before this happened, but if Mark truly repents and seeks the forgiveness from God and from Jenny, then like Jenny said, over years of hard work, he can earn that trust back.
They have a long way to go…and honestly, a weaker woman would have already given up and started looking for another man to help her raise those boys. That too, would have been a long hard road for the family. She’s choosing which long hard road she wants to travel, and choosing the one she believes will benefit those boys most, not necessarily herself. Her effort and determination in keeping her family together makes me want to pull for Mark, he needs to wake up and smell the roses. That woman is a keeper if ever there was one.

I have the feel that Mark is simply taking a public revenge on a very powerful woman to whom he has been subjecting himself on the receiving end.He should be feeling as if he lost his influential position in the running of the family of five males and one lady.It’s kind of trying to prove it to her that on the other levels of his world,he is respected,feared or on demand.How can he first of all apologize publicly to his soul-mate,then ended up his apologies to his wife and sons?He definitely has issues to settle with his lovely Jenny.He feels lacking as a husband.His wife is clever enough to understand his position and sympathize with him.Jenny,I believe that she cannot be pulled down low to the level where Mark is trying to enforce by performing such bizarre acts.He should be feeling ashamed to discover more of his wife’s deep knowledge of the matter and strength.He’s,according to me, just beating himself up uselessly.I would tell him to become a real man who can be comfortable with such powerful women.Bro Mark,no egoism allowed here.Be normal,the real you.I believe that sincerely deep within you,you love your wife and the beautiful boys.You ain’t a fool this is where you know you belong.Do the right things.

Jenny, I am going trough the same thing that you are. My husband of 42 years is divorcing me and I’m in terrible pain. You are so brave, I wish I could be as brave, but I am not. I have forgiven him and he went back to her, it is not something that I expected him to do.
