Firefighters Rihanna Video Prompts Redondo Beach Kitchen Concerns

REDONDO BEACH (LALATE) – Firefighters are dancing to Rihanna’s music video We Found Love, all in the hope of a new kitchen. Redondo Beach Fire Station 1 has made a Rihanna music video version of “We Found Love” all in the hope of improving their facility. Now the video is dominating local news and attracting the attention of national retailer IKEA.

In Rihanna’s music video “We Found Love”, the hit singer is seen getting sick, propelling from her mouth pink and white streamers. But now Fire Station 1 is telling news that their kitchen is making them sick as well.

The station entered an IKEA contest to get a new kitchen remodel. And rather than turn to the public for assistance, Fire Station 1 is hoping IKEA chooses the station as the beneficiary of a brand new kitchen.

“Thousands of deserving firehouses from across the country were nominated by their communities to win an IKEA® Rescue Remodel” says the website rescueremodel.com.

“The firehouse with the most votes will receive a truly heroic kitchen renovation valued at $25,000. And since it’s all from IKEA, it will be full of smart and innovative ideas to make their lives a little bit easier so they can better protect our communities.”

Currently, Redondo is in first place with twenty-seven thousand votes. “Yellow rims around the sink” sing the firemen. Dudley O’Shaughnessy doesn’t make a cameo in the video either. “We cook our food in a hopeless place” the station singers.

Vincent Herbert Hospitalized, Tamar Braxton Struggles, Tonight on BFV

Vincent Herbert Hospitalized, Tamar Braxton Struggles, Tonight on BFV

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Vincent Herbert is hospitalized tonight on Braxton Family Values (BFV). Vince Herbert was hospitalized in 2011. But until tonight, viewers never known what happened to Vincent Herbert, and how it impacted wife Tamar Braxton and the rest of the Braxton family. On Thursday night, all those details will be revealed to news and fans.

LALATE predicts that tonight’s BFV episode will be the highest rated episode ever in Braxton Family Values history. At issue is the shocking revelation that Vincent Herbert is hospitalized. Herbert serves as the show’s co-executive producer; he is Tamar’s husband; and prior to this episode’s taping, he was also Toni Braxton’s manager.

When the shocking news erupted in 2011, fans of Braxton Family Values knew the situation was serious, but didn’t know all the details. Tonight viewers will learn that Vince Herbert went into a coma. The situation was so serious that Tamar Braxton was asked by doctors to sign “a lot of papers” to determine Vincent’s critical medical procedures. Tamar eventually fired one doctor treating her doctor because she felt he was too young. In the end, Vincent made a full recovery.

Why was Vincent Herbert hospitalized? WeTV is expected to reveal that Herbert suffered a pulmonary embolism, or blood clot on the lungs. The condition can impede one’s ability to breath.

In fall of 2011, Toni Braxton had dropped Vincent as her manager and replaced him with Baumgarten Management & Productions, Inc. In the days that followed, Vincent and Tamar confirmed that they would headline their own spinoff series for WeTv in 2012.

Herbert was set to fly to Los Angeles to appear at a news conference to promote season two of Braxton Family Values. He was also about to appear at a President Barack Obama fundraiser held by Will Smith in Los Angeles.

But just months after Serena Williams suffered pulmonary embolism, Herbert while traveling in New York suffered the same medical scare.

Tamar told JET magazine months later “It went from dinner, to a doctor, to a hospital, to he’s in a coma.” Suddenly Tamar had to make life changing decisions. “I had to sign a lot of papers. I’m happy that we were friends because when you’re going through ‘what would he do?’ you remember those conversations.” She said the two had never had a life changing event until this scare. “It was the first thing we ever had to deal with outside of the normal relationship thing.”

Tamar is depicted on tonight’s BFV breaking down in tears. But she did have control during the scare to insure that Vincent got proper care. “At first Doogie Howser was his doctor, and I was like no. I want someone with gray hair.”

Tamar says that the TV show has made her and Vincent closer. “Let me tell you why reality TV marriages fail… Because they’re being fake, and then when they see it on TV they argue.”

After Vincent was hospitalized, New York news claimed that WETV rushed to New York to capture all the dramatic moments. But much of what will air tonight will be highly edited for privacy. Lady GaGa and a series of major celebrities reportedly visited Vincent during his hospitalization.

Since the scare, Vincent is doing better. He reportedly has begun exercising, buying a dog to encourage him to take walks. He is additionally watching his health as well. The episode airs tonight on WETV.

Kyle Dyer Dog Bite Attack on 9 News Puts Dog in Quarantine

Kyle Dyer Dog Bite Attack on 9 News Puts Dog in Quarantine

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Following the Kyle Dyer dog bite attack on 9 News yesterday, the dog remains quarantined. The Kyle Dyer dog attack hospitalized the 9 News reporter; but the NBC affiliate in Denver reports that Dyer is recovering after surgery. Officials Thursday confirmed to news that the pet at the center of the Kyle Dyer dog attack is quarantined, and will remain so, for several days. He will be released back to his owner possibly later this month. His owner, however, will appear in court in April to face a series of fines for the 9 News dog attack.

In 2008, President Bush’s first dog, Barney, bit a Reuters news reporter. Barney bit Reuters television White House correspondent Jon Decker at the time, breaking his skin.

One year earlier, dogs allegedly belonging to actor Ving Rhames attack a caretaker at the actor’s Los Angeles home. “It appeared that the person suffered a number of injuries as a result of the dog mauling,” Sgt. Lee Sands said in a news statement at the time “There were numerous dog bites all over his body, but the exact cause of death is pending the coroner’s ruling.”

But on Wednesday, a Denver news station was doing an update to dog rescue story that they had previously covered. An 85-pound Argentine mastiff dog named Gladiator Maximus, or Max, had been rescued by firefighter Tyler Sugaski after Max had chased a coyote.

KUSA aka 9News, an NBC affiliate in Denver, had aired the rescue live video earlier this month. So on Wednesday, 9 News decided to featured, on studio set, Sugaski and Michael Robinson, the dog’s owner. Also joining them was the dog, not on a leash, and Dyer.

Dyer appeared in front of the dog, kneeling, while the men remained behind the dog, seated on a sofa. During one exchange, Dyer leaned into the recently traumatized dog. Max lunged at her, and bit her.

The video aired on live television. At the time, it was unclear to news viewers if Dyer had been bit on the face or below. Her station says she was bit on part of her lip.

Moreover, the news station says Sugaski, who saved the dog previously, was now a hero for heloing Dyer. He “immediately started caring for Kyle in the newsroom and to us became a hero for the second time”.

Dyer was rushed to a local hospital. She underwent emergency reconstructive surgery on her lip. By evening, she was alert, responsive, and in good health. Her station said that Dyer was reading  the wishes from viewers sent to her by email earlier that day.

Meantime, the owner was cited. Doug Kelley, the director of Denver Animal Care and Control, told news that Robinson was cited for not having the dog on a leash and not having the dog vaccinated. The dog, however, is expected to be released later this month.

Dyer’s condition improved from fair to stable. She reportedly suffered no trauma, but was under trauma evaluation.

The station later told news “Max and his owner spent about 45 minutes in the newsroom before they went on the air, and many members of the staff greeted them and petted Max. He seemed perfectly normal.” But “during the interview Kyle petted him, and talked to the two guest. At the very end of the segment, Max snapped at Kyle for whatever reason and got some of her lip.”

The station has been thankful of viewers who have sent their wishes of support. 9 News also set up an email address and mailing address to send message for Dyer.

Meantime, 9 News was quick to remove the video from its website. But in the hours that followed, and still today, other news stations have been airing the 9 News video, apparently without authorization, and even posting it to their YouTube accounts, unedited.

Vice President of News at 9NEWS Patti Dennis said on Wednesday that the station remains committed to animals, animal welfare in Colorado, and its community.

Mimi Alford Photos, JFK Mistress Remained Mystery Until Mimi Beardsley Admission

Mimi Alford Photos, JFK Mistress Remained Mystery Until Mimi Beardsley Admission

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Mimi Alford photos and details of her JFK affair and Dave Powers encounter air tonight on TV.  But Mimi Alford didn’t just recently decide to detail her life as Mimi Beardsley, alleged JFK intern, in a new book. Rather, Mimi Alford was sought by news reporters nearly a decade ago. And when tracked down, the former White House intern admitted that she had in fact had an affair with Kennedy and Dave Powers.

The real credit on tonight’s news story, however, should be bestowed on the New York Daily News who discovered Mimi Beardsley nearly a decade ago. Mimi Alford is not exactly breaking her silence tonight. She did so nearly a decade earlier to the Daily News.

Part of the confusion about Mimi Alford started with her name. When she was in the White House as a JFK intern, her name was Mimi Beardsley. Initially Beardsley was a prep school senior who met the president during a White House visit in 1961. She then went to Wheaton College. Then Beardsley was delighted that she was given a summer internship inside the White House press office. But it wasn’t press work that Beardsley was about to do. Rather, she was to join an inner circle of young women who traveled officially with Kennedy but didn’t partake in official business.

In 2003, Robert Dallek published a book entitled An Unfinished Life: John F. Kennedy, 1917-1963″. In it, Dallek detailed his access to previously sealed White House documents. Dallek uncovered an alleged affair between JFK and an intern. Dallek tracked down Barbara Gamarekian. Gamarekian told Dallek that she knew about an intern that had an affair with JFK, and knew her name to be Mimi.

Because of Alford’s name changes over the years, however, New York news had difficulty tracking her down. In 2003, that changed. Mimi was found living in New York as Marion Fahnestock aka Mimi Fahnestock. At the time, she was an administrator at Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Gamarekian had previously told Dallek that Mimi was often hiding in the floor of JFK’s limo on vacations; she was traveling on Air Force One; she was meeting up with JFK at secret resorts; and even joined him as he traveled to international peace submits.

Mimi worked two summers at the White House reportedly. She later married Anthony Fahnestock.

Initial news reports in 2003 claimed that Mimi never told her then husband about the JFK matter. It remains unclear if that is true. Andrea Henderson Fahnestock, Anthony Fahnestock’s second wife, was a curator at the Museum of the City of New York in 2003. She told the New York Daily News at the time “This story doesn’t involve my husband.”

But Alford tells news that the JFK murder left a shadow on her life, so much so, that the pain would destroy her future marriage.

In speaking about Mimi, Barbara Gamarekian told news in 1964 “Obviously, she had a special relationship with the President”. How far did that relationship extend? Mimi Alford writes in her book that she had relations with JFK. JFK gave her substances to sniff before having relations. JFK asked her and she consented to having relations with Dave Powers in front of JFK. And JFK asked her to have relations with Ted Kennedy but she declined.

Tonight, is not an immediate revelation about Mimi Alford. Her existence has been known in White House sealed documents since the 1964, she was first detailed by Robert Dallek in his 2003 book, and she broke her silence admitting the affair in a news interview with the New York Daily News that same year. In 2009, LALATE detailed extensively her plans with Random House to publish this book, a book she was reportedly paid seven figures to write.

So when Mimi Alford’s book hits shelves today, and she appears on TV news tonight, it is certainly not the first we have ever heard of Alford.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Kyle Dyer dog bite video that aired live on 9 News this morning has prompted viewer support and best wishes for Dyer. Kyle Dyer suffered a dog bite during 9 News KUSA Channel 9 broadcast this morning. Moments ago, Kyle Dyer’s co-workers told news that Dyer is alert, resting, and recovering. Moreover, Dyer wants to thank viewers for their outpouring of support.

But strangely, as 9 News insured the video was removed from YouTube today, other news stations across the country began to air and post the Kyle Dyer bite video in its entirety, for its own viewers today.

Kyle Dyer’s dog bite happened live this morning during 9 News telecast. Dyer leaned in toward the face of a rescued 85-pound Argentine Mastiff. The dog was not on its leash. It lunged at Kyle Dyer’s lip.

Her station has since updated news that Dyer suffered a dog bite to part, not all, of the lip. She underwent reconstructive surgery, that surgery has been successful, and Dyer is already alert and resting safely.

Kyle Dyer tonight through the 9 News representatives thanked fans for their enormous outpouring of support. The dog is now being held in the Denver Animal Shelter. He will remain there ten days and be re-evaluated on February 18 or 19.

The dog’s owner has been cited for the dog appearing without a leash and without having undergone a rabies shot. The dog, however, has not tested positive for rabies.

Vice President of News at 9NEWS Patti Dennis tells news tonight that “We love Kyle and what she and her family do for this community. We also love animals and will continue to do all we can to use 9NEWS to improve animal welfare in Colorado.”

Tonight, 9News is telling viewers that they may email their messages of support to a dedicated email for Dyer at webteam@9news.com. Supporters can also send letters to Dyer at the station’s address of 500 Speer Blvd. Denver, CO 80203.

Gary Shapiro also tells news that Kyle’s recovery will “take a while”. “She wanted me to thank everyone who has called, sent e-mails, posted comments and sent well-wishes and prayers her way. Kyle is going to be OK, although she will be off the air for a while. “

Shapiro says the firefighter who appeared during the news segment had previously rescued the dog. But tonight, Shapiro tells news that the same firefighter is a hero again. The dog “snapped at Kyle for whatever reason and got some of her lip. The firefighter immediately started caring for Kyle in the newsroom and to us became a hero for the second time.” Shapiro added “And from me, thanks to everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers.”

Kyle Dyer Dog Attack Video Shocks KUSA Channel 9 News Telecast

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Kyle Dyer dog attack video during a live KUSA Channel 9 News telecast is prompting controversy. Kyle Dyer is a news anchor of KUSA aka 9News, an NBC affiliate in Denver, Colorado airing on channel 9. On Wednesday morning, Kyle Dyer was attacked by a dog, live on air.

The Argentine mastiff bit Kyle Dyer during a live news interview. And while KUSA-TV has been quick to delete the actual attack video, other leading local news stations across the country are still airing the shocking video footage, with no editing. As of 4:30 PM today, one leading West Coast local news broadcaster is airing dog attack video on its website with no editing.

Dyer was kneeling in a studio set in front of an 85-pound Argentine mastiff dog named Gladiator Maximus, or Max. Max had been chasing a coyote earlier in the week. Firefighter Tyler Sugaski was able to rescue the dog following the coyote chase.

But on Wednesday morning, Dyer reunited Michael Robinson, the dog’s owner, with Sugaski. In the video, Robinson is seated behind the dog, Dyer is kneeling in front of Max, and Sugaski is one seat further over.

KUSA aired the attack live. But the station was quick remove any footage of the attack thereafter. Yet, other leading local news stations across the country, however, are still airing the disturbing attack without editing.

Julie Lonborg, spokeswoman for Denver Health hospital, said in a news statement that Dyer was in fair condition; Dyer is undergoing trauma evaluation. The station says that Dyer is “getting medical attention due to the injury”. Megan Hughes, spokeswoman for the Denver Environmental Health department, tells news no determination has been made about the dog.

Robinson, the dog’s owner, has been cited. Doug Kelley, the director of Denver Animal Care and Control, told KUSA that Robinson has been cited for the bite, for not having the dog on a leash, and for not having the dog vaccinated for rabies.

KUSA news director Patti Dennis confirms to news that Dyer is resting well, awake, alert, and improving. Dennis says that Dryer had to undergo reconstructive surgery on the lip. “The dog bite accident that happened today at 9News was unfortunate and certainly not expected based on what we knew about the dog and his owner,” Dennis wrote on the station’s Facebook page. “Our goal was to unite the owner with the rescuer for a nice segment. We are all thinking of Kyle and her recovery.”
