Four decades ago, Julian brought home the above drawing from school and told his dad, “That’s Lucy in the sky with diamonds.” The song became one of the classics on “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Now Vodden, 46, today suffers Lupus. Vodden has had condition for five years. She reveals to AP this week that recently Julian learned of her condition and for the first time in decades contacted her. They now remain in touch via texting.

Vodden was honored to be the inspiration of the song, even though she reportedly doesn’t like its association with LSD.
