While the constant tabloid playout of Jon and Kate the last 30 days has been one of separation on a regular basis – from bikini shots of Kate, to Jon spending memorial day with other people not his family – reports say that tonight’s episode was taped months ago, back in March.

So just how long has this mess being really going on?

Tonight’s episode featured Kate celebrating her 34rd birthday with the 8 and without Jon. What’s Jon excuse this time? Much the same junk Jon has been casting for weeks – he was off his “friends”. Hanging, buddies, friends has been much the mantra for Jon for weeks. Tonight he told viewers.

“I went out to Utah for, like, five days. I just wanted to get back out there and ride with my friends. It just happened to fall on Kate’s birthday.”

Just happened? What a devoted husband.
