Coffee Filter Prom Dress!

PHOTO! Here is a picture of the Coffee Filter Prom Dress! Aimee Kick made a prom dress out of coffee filters. Kick is a senior at Francis Howell North High School and has created a stunning, and apparently very comfortable, prom dress with filters.
Good for you!
Aimee reportedly had already been spending lots of times at coffee shops when she wasn’t studying, earning her the nickname the “girl with a coffee cup”. That became her inspiration in creating a dress which she had already determined wouldn’t use fabric as its base. She wanted a material that would be durable, lasting, and that would allow her to enjoy her evening in comfort.
It took her one month to create the dress, as much as six hours per day. She tells her local school district:
“Each and every filter is sewn onto a fabric base that I made. Most filters have multiple seams over them, save for the bodice, which was all hand sewn. I am very inspired to use different materials, so it was more of a stimulating challenge than a difficulty.”
And she got an incredible creation! … just make sure no one at prom spills coffee on it.
