Is the new Hills feud Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge? Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge feuding words started today on Los Angeles radio in a manner that makes you ask, is this all real, or is this a setup for the storyline new season of the Hills?

Move over LC v Speidi, hello Kristin v Audrina? You need conflict in the new season and this might very well be the needed mix, even if it is or isn’t staged.

The bigger question – does anyone care? Does anyone care to even watch the ratings falling Hills anymore?

If you recall, many had thought Audrina was not set to return for the new season. But she’s back and today Pat’ expressed her dislike about Cav’ on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show saying “I don’t like her”:

“When someone gets in my face, I have to defend myself. And, you guys, I mean, I can’t say much. They’ll show it, but I mean, all I have to say is, it’s really pathetic and desperate what people will do when the cameras are around.

“It was my birthday, and I was like, Oh, my God. Is this what we’re going to have to deal with?’”

Tonight’s spelling bee win came down to two words

Maecenas

What are they definitions of Laodicean and  Maecenas?

Kavya Shivashankar beat out Tim Ruiter of Centreville, Va. who misspelled Maecenas. Ruiter tells press:

“I had absolutely no clue about that word. I was just racking my brain for anything possible that could help me. I’ll probably be spelling it in my sleep tonight.”

“Maecenas” means a cultural benefactor.

“Laodicean” means Indifferent or lukewarm especially in matters of religion.

Other notable words tonight: “palatschinken,” an unusual type of pancake.

Kavya Shivashankar is your 2009 National Spelling Bee champion! Kavya Shivashankar won the Spelling Bee tonight, a $40,000 check and a huge trophy.

Your winner, spelled S-h-i-v-a-s-h-a-n-k-a-r, won tonight at age 13, beating out 12-year-old Tim Ruiter of Centreville, Va., who is the only non teenager reaching the finals in the competition for 2009. His loosing word was “Maecenas” (cultural benefactor).

It’s been years in the making for Kavya who says she’s gave up a lot of social life to get where she got. In three previous years, she reached the top 10 each time – pulling it 10, 8th, and 4th. Tonight it finally happened, beating out 293 competitors in the 82nd edition of the national competition.

Congrats to Kavya!

PHOTOS! Here are pictures of Fairfax High School’s Los Angeles prom queen – Sergio Garcia. Sergio Garcia Prom Queen was the title and crown bestowed on the Fairfax student here in Los Angeles Sunday.

Sergio says he will wear a man’s suit, not a dress but deep down he admits to being openly a queen.

“I will be wearing a suit, but don’t be fooled, deep down inside, I am a queen!”

The story is no different that similar male prom queen stories this year. Sergio Garcia thought running for prom queen, not king, could be a fun stunt, never thinking he would beat out his female competition. In the end, his prom queen speech reportedly won over the student body.

“At one time, prom may have been a big popularity contest where the best-looking guy or girl were crowned king and queen. Things have changed and it’s no longer just about who has the most friends or who wears the coolest clothes. Sure, I’m not your typical prom queen candidate. There’s more to me than meets the eye.”

Sergio received the Fairfax honors at nearby Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel last Saturday.

Rodney Rodgers’ accident is given an update during a TNT interview tonight with Chris Webber. Rodney Rodgers’ interview with Webber aires on TNT during the NBA Eastern Conference finals Thursday.

A November 2008 dirt bike accident left Rodney Rogers a quadriplegic.

The NBA veteran and former Wake Forest University Star was injured in North Carolina. Rodgers was paralyzed from the waist down following being thrown from an ATV. Rodgers was drafted in 1993, played 12 seasons, and reportedly saved his money. He then went to work for the City of Durham’s Public Works Department just to keep busy. Said his boss:

“I didn’t even know he had lots of money. He is very friendly, very concerned, very conscientious. We chose him because of his ethics and his attitude.

“He was highly motivated. He was promoted to supervisor six months ago”.
