$232 million is on the line, the biggest Powerball paycheck in one year, and second biggest in two years. Powerball is currently in 30 U.S. states.

Moments ago press confirmed for tonight there was only ONE winning ticket, sold in South Dakota. There are also over 12 who matched 5 of the six numbers that will net them $200,000 each. Those tickets were sold in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

To recap, Cop Without a Badge (which some incorrectly identify as Copy without a Gun) is a book by Kevin Maher published in 1995. Danielle Staub is one of the stars of the new Real Housewives of New Jersey on Bravo. Last night, Real Housewives teased that viewers will learn if Danielle, and possibly her mug shot, are featured in the now out-of-print “Cop Without a Badge,” the true-life story of a former con turned criminal informant.

Readers on Amazon.com say the book is not thruthful. Kevin Maher allegeds in the book about Merrill:

“She was brunette. Long, perfectly shaped legs poked out of her leather hot pants just as provocatively as her braless breasts strained against her low-cut blouse…..

“This is a good person.”

And this a good storyline. The publisher says of the book:

Former FBI and Secret Service agent Kevin Maher describes the intervention that prevented him from following a life of crime and recounts his dangerous career in which he solved homicides, targeted the mafia, and fought in the drug war.

Last night, Real Housewives teased that viewers will learn if Danielle, and possibly her mug shot, are featured in the now out-of-print “Cop Without a Badge,” the true-life story of a former con turned criminal informant.

As LALATE reported last night, that book and Staub have become the biggest reality tv story this week.

The publisher describes the book as follows:

Former FBI and Secret Service agent Kevin Maher describes the intervention that prevented him from following a life of crime and recounts his dangerous career in which he solved homicides, targeted the mafia, and fought in the drug war.

But readers on Amazon.com say the book is full of lies.

One website searched down a copy of the book (it wrongly calls Cop without a Gun) in the Rutgers Newark’s law library where “sure enough, it includes a mug shot of a woman named Beverly Merrill who looks astonishingly like Staub. The book is about a former con named Kevin Maher who becomes an informant for the New York Police Department and the FBI, among other agencies, and who, along the way, leaves his wife and stepson for the morally ambigious charms of …. Beverly Merrill.”

The book writes:

“She was brunette. Long, perfectly shaped legs poked out of her leather hot pants just as provocatively as her braless breasts strained against her low-cut blouse….. This is a good person.”

So is Merrill in fact Staub? Will we learn next week?
