Google May Buy Twitter!

Google is considering buying Twitter! If Google buys Twitter, Evan Williams and Biz Stone will have sold two companies to Google in five years.
Evan Williams and Biz Stone started Blogger, sold to Google earlier this decade. Now their Twitter may soon be sold too.
Recently, Facebook reportedly offered to buy Twitter for $ 1/2 billion. But the Facebook deal wasn’t cash, Google’s could be, claims reports late tonight. Talks initially reported as late stage are now be revised as early stage negotiations between G and T.
What’s the sale price potential? Between $250 to $500 million cash claims chatter. And the value? No, not just a lot of posts by Heidi Montag and John Mayer dissing. Rather the WSJ believes value is in the search feature of Twitter:
We’ve been arguing for some time that Twitter’s real value is in search. It holds the keys to the best real time database and search engine on the Internet, and Google doesn’t even have a horse in the game. In a post last month called It?s Time To Start Thinking Of Twitter As A Search Engine, I wrote:
The Journal which first entitled its report “late stage” has since “Updated: Yet another source says the acquisition discussions are still fairly early stage”.
No confirmation from either company.
