Police want Lindsay Lohan arrested. Lindsay Lohan has a 2009 warrant out for her arrest! The arrest warrant against Lohan was released to press moments ago and issued by a Beverly Hills Superior Court yesterday.

Lohan, who was in Los Angeles this week, will be arrested for her 2007 DUI and hit-and-run case claims reports. But that may not happen.

Why?

First, police are confirming the arrest warrant, and issuing the following statement:

“The circumstances leading to the issuance by the court are not readily available at this time. It is our hope that Ms. Lohan will surrender herself so this matter can be resolved in at timely manner.”

Lohan’s attorney calls the arrest warrant for a matter in 2007 as a “misunderstanding”. He tells EXTRA:

“Since her case was resolved, Ms. Lohan has been in compliance with all the terms and conditions of her probation and all orders of the Court. The warrant issued on Friday was, in our view, born out of a misunderstanding which I am confident I can clear up next week.”

But now reports say officers are currently at Lohan / Samantha Ronson’s home. Neither reportedly answered the door.

Sources reportedly  say Lohan will not be arrested before Monday’s hearing if she remains in the home, but “if she does go out in public and cops see her she risks getting arrested. So it’s unlikely she will show her face — if she’s smart — until Monday AM.”

The nature of the police grief is alleged violation of her probation, naming whether or not she has violated her alcohol education program terms.

Lohan’s attorney late Saturday confirms (a) she will fight the warrant and (b) contends she has completely complied with the program and the warrant is bogus.
