Rosalio Reta and Gabriel Cardona wore Santa Muerte tattoos as cartel assassins. At 13, Reta was reportedly working for one of the two major drug cartels called the “Mexican Gulf Cartel”. Prosecutors say him and Cardona were teenage hitmen for the Mexican cartel. Now the two are opening up, from prison, about the previously unknown sleeper cells in the U.S.

The group’s name was La Zetas. It was comprised of former Mexican special forces operatives. At 13, Cardona and Reta were killing. Las Zetas liked that and initiated them into their force.

The two had $70,000 Mercedes and expensive homes. And those tattoos? Both carried tattoos of “Santa Muerte”. Santa Muerte is a death-like saint worshipped by drug traffickers.
