Eric Tangradi Chris Kunitz Ryan Whitney Trade!

A mega trade has sent the Ducks’ Chris Kunitz and Eric Tangradi to the Penguins for Ryan Whitney.
Left wing Chris Kunitz joins Eric Tangradi in the Ducks Penguins trade for defenseman Ryan Whitney.
Kunitz is in year one of a four year contract at $3.725 million. In contrast, Whitney is in year two of a six year contract with a cap at $4 million. He’s the 6th highest scoring NHL defenseman.
The Times reports:
The next question is what impact this deal will have on whether the Ducks will deal Chris Pronger before next Wednesday’s trade deadline.
They will probably trade him if they can get a young player who can play now and a first-round pick. That would accelerate the Ducks’ rebuilding process: They wouldn’t have to start from scratch with Whitney as a starting point on defense and Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan up front, plus whoever they might get in a Pronger trade.
