Attorney Neville Johnson represents Monika Zsibrita in her Chris Rock lawsuit. Monika Zsibrita had her Chris Rock lawsuit unsealed this week in Los Angeles.

Here’s the Monika Zsibrita Chris Rock background. Johnson reportedly filed the Monika Zsibrita Chris Rock lawsuit under seal in August because of a 2000 settlement carrying a confidentiality agreement. Harriet Ryan at the Times reports that Johnson contends Rock violated that confidentiality by speaking about the matter on a 2004 Howard Stern Show.

If the disputed facts sound new, they aren’t. The encounter was nearly a decade ago at the famed Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Doheny. The case was part of the questioning in the recent Anthony Pellicano trial. But now its become the subject of a new civil suit.

The suit was file in August in Los Angeles by Monika Zsibrita against Rock and Thursday was reportedly unsealed. The purpose – she wants her story told.

“My side has never been out. This has basically ruined my life.”

No comment by Rock. The comedian had reportedly fought against the file being unsealed.

Massive layoffs hit troubled law firm Latham Watkins today. Latham Watkins layoffs struck law firm offices in Los Angeles and New York reportedly the worse.

Several reports including the WSJ put the layoff numbers at 440 employees with 190 associates and 250 staff being nationally. That would reportedly mark the nation’s biggest law firm layoff for 2009.

Latham’s Bob Dell has issued the following statement:

The depth and duration of this recession is unprecedented and we expect the health of the global economy to remain weak at least through 2009. While our diversified practices and global platform provide the stability and strength to navigate these turbulent market conditions, we must adjust our staffing levels in line with the projected needs of our clients. . . . We will be offering a comprehensive separation package, including payment of six months salary and six months of continued medical benefits, as well as other resources to support this transition. . . . ”

Bart Scott heading to the Jets? Reports say Bart Scott could sign with the Jets today.

Bart Scott is reportedly on route to meet the Jets Friday and could sign by the close of today, reports the Sporting News. Scott has sparked interest so far from half a dozen teams including the Giants, Chiefs, Browns, Bucs, Broncos and Dolphins

In other news, reports say Ray Lewis could be headed to Denver, and the Jets are considering Steelers Chris Kemoeatu.
