Is Nadya Suleman the octuplets mother? Nadya Suleman is getting huge internet chatter this morning. Angela Suleman came forward that her daughter had six kids already before the octuplets were born.
Angela Suleman is the grandmother, the mother of the unnamed mother of the 8 babies which online chatter is questioning might be named Nadya Suleman this morning.
Angela says:
“We understand that you are all curious about the arrival of the octuplets, and we appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy. Please know in our own time, we will share additional details about this miraculous experience. The babies continue to grow strong every day and make good progress. My family and I are ecstatic about their arrival. Needless to say, the eighth was a surprise to us all, but a blessing as well. We thank all of you for the positive thoughts, prayers and generosity.”
With six kids already, what did Angela’s daughter go and do? Have some more, artificially, says reports.
Says Fox:
“Suleman said her daughter had embryos implanted last year, and after finding out she was pregnant with multiple babies was given the option by doctors of selectively reducing the number of embryos. The woman declined” says Fox.

That is disgusting. There should be a law that says if you don’t wish to marry/have a partner, then you shouldn’t be allowed to have more than two kids.
How does she support them all on her own??!!
And how did she manage to get invitro for all 14? There should be a law for that too - so you can’t have IVF anymore if you have two or more kids from the first time/s.
I have wanted kids since I was only about 8 and I still only have two kids and I’m 30! The most I could ever have is 4. I find it hard enough taking care of two and I have a husband to help! We have two girls and we would like a boy but we wouldn’t have child after child after child to get a boy. Heck I know someone that had 11 sons and never had a daughter.
If you really want a boy/girl that bad then there is always the option of having it done through IVF to make sure the child is the sex you want… if you want it that bad. Or just be happy with what God has given you!

The woman (named Nadya Suleman) is 33 years old, has never been married, used IN VITRO FERTILIZATION FOR ALL HER CHILDREN, apparently “worked” at the Fertility Clinic, used the same “DONOR FATHER” (makes you wonder if it was her boss!?), lives with/off her PARENTS, who are 1 million dollars in debt and filed bankruptcy last March!!! The news tonight said the hospitalization bill alone is over one million dollars already… Guess who they plan to have FOOT THE BILL for all this b.s.?!

The INS needs to check this woman and her parents out to see if they are even in this country LEGALLY!!! Was this woman even born in the US? Pam– Yes you can do gender selection with IVF. For an added expense you can have Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). PGD is used to determine genetic abnormalities. However, since it involves in looking at the chromosomes of the embryo prior to implantation the sex of the baby can be known as well. There are couples who have used PGD to select the sex of the baby.

There seems to be a LOT more to this story than anybody is letting on. Things just don’t “add up.” What doctor would have implanted all those eggs? Maybe the woman did it to herself, or with the aid of a friend?! She apparently worked for that Fertility Clinic. Also, some stories are reporting that the same “donor” is father to all her children; sounds like some worker at the Clinic who sits around and “DONATES” sperm all day long!! LOL…
No, there are things we don’t yet know about this whole ugly story that will make people even MORE riled up and disgusted when the truth emerges. Count on it. I find it really difficult to understand why someone would allow her to get IVF when she already has 6 children at home. That is in fact the situation here. Do I believe she should go back to the Gaza Strip?-absolutely not. Do I believe we should revisit our 14th amendment-not at all. This has nothing to do with her immigration status, nor her love for kids. If anything, the question is, does the doctor that administered the IVF have an ethical right to justify his/her doing? If anything, the patient should at least have some sort of counseling prior to engaging in this treatment. If couples who get married should go through “pre-marital classes” prior to getting married, why shouldn’t IVF patients who ALREADY have children do the same? But at the end of the day, I’m not God, nor do I walk in her shoes, or anyone else’s. Hey, she has made her bed; she will be the person to lie in it.
So please, let’s refrain from ignorant immigration jargon.

Is there no limit to the methods used these irresponsible and thoughtless people to gain fame and fuel their limitless vanity? The first months of life for these children will be full of pain and suffering as they fight to stay alive. Clearly this is not prudent application of the sciences by those involved and the responsible doctor should be investigated by the state medical board. It would not surprise me if this deranged woman had partnered with a pathologically obsessed fertility doctor who was guided by only his own vanity. This woman has a right to children, but not at the expense of society at large. We have difficulty raising smaller numbers of children to be reasonable and reliable members of society. Our morbid curiosity fuels the flame of this vanity by paying for their story for use in the media. The best thing that can be hoped for is that the medical billing department can place liens more skillfully than this group of grifters can claim bankrupcy. If this woman (and family who enabled it) choses to put many of these children up for adoption it would show earnesty, as each child would recieve a reasonable amount of attention and have a chance at a normal childhood. At the end of the day however it can be expected that the surviving children will grow up like neglected dogs in a crowded home stinking of feces and urine - with a mother whom more than likely will NOT be able to remembrer even their names.

I can see her wanting to have kids. However, I think she should have a job & her own home first. I wonder if she has insurance? How the hell can she afford invitro? Do her parents have alot of money? You know some people file bankruptcy even when they have money to avoid paying bills. They may have money hidden. I mean seriously how do you take care of seven kids without a job? If you get a job how do you afford childcare? I have friends with a PHD but that doesnt mean you can afford thousands a week in chilldcare. If you pay that much it defeats the purpose of working. The taxpayers are going to pay most of the medical bills because these kids are what is know as “low birth weight” babies and will be put on Supplemental
Security income for at least 1 year. Not only will medicaid pay the bills but Mom will get close to 700 per month for each child. She already has one child that she says is Autistic so she may already be getting SSI for that child.

The shrinks know that she has obsessive compulsive disorder ( a mental disorder) It is very difficult to cure the problem and the authorities cannot force her to get fixed. SO, the likelihood of her having this happen again is good! The county needs to wait at her door when she returns from the hospital and inform her that her 6 kids are going to a foster care home, and the infants will go to a source that will accommate their needs. I hope Oprah turns her down on an interview. This woman has a set amount of money that she wants, and expects Oprah to make a star out of her. She has a degree in childhood issues. I’ve read a few of the posts on her and it saddens me to know that there are so many ignorant people out there. I myself would not have this many children because that is my CHOICE….the same way it is her CHOICE to have them….or your choice to be gay or straight or prejudice or religious or open minded. This woman will love her children because just the fact that she wanted more after having 6 already signifies a strong desire. I’d rather have a mother like her who actually WANTS her children and is dedicated to raising them properly than these so many losers who have children and could care less about them (and you’ll find these people in the richest suburbs to the worst inner cities). Also, before everyone starts screaming that your tax dollars are going to support her, especially when she is saying that she is not asking for govt help……look around you. You already are support countless children and their parents who have NO DESIRE to even attempt to find a job because they don’t care!!

My heart breaks for all 14 children born to this woman — the oldest is only 7 years old. There is simply no way even two full-time parents could possibly give each child the nurturing and individual attention they need. Yes, there are large families out there, but not with 14 children under the age of 7! I believe in the best interest of the children, Child Protective Services needs to conduct a very thorough investigation into the homelife and ability of this woman and her mother to care for all these young children.

I disagree with everyone who has said that there is a problem with a single woman having more than X number of children. I don’t believe we should limit. That being said — it is absolutely imperative that no matter how many children one has–that they be financially and emotionally able to support them. My biggest problem with this is that she has no way to support the children. Going back to school to get her Masters? Who will care for all of the pre-school aged children while Mommy becomes a professional student? And for all of us out here who ever experienced this problem….what says she’ll get a good job (or ANY job) once she has graduated? With all of the experienced people currently unemployed and the economy the way that it is, a company would be nuts to bring in an inexperienced person when they can have an experienced one willing to take the same pay–just to have a job. My biggest concerns are: financial support for all 14 and emotional support and upbringing for all 14.

Do any of you actually watch the interview,and other stories?Your sitting here crying “my money pay for it”,guess not ,just running your mouth in someone elses business.out of boredom. THE mother clearly states she DOES NOT LIVE OFF DFS,she will not except help. It is also said she won a lawsuit for an injury,165,000..that is enought to support her kids for some time . I’m sure most of you on here do not have the life or relationship with your own children as she will with hers. She does have an education which you cant say many today have (too many dropouts),she at least has education and futhering it so she can get even a better job to support them…..Heck there are parents out there with only 2 kids and worse off than she is,, as for her mom helping ‘what is so wrong with that’? There are grandparents all over that help,ecpecially with working parents to keep daycare costs down. That is their choice.. And last what is so bad about not being married? Marriage does not last for many anyway,And there is the fact that one parents usually raises the children mostly alone anyway…Good luck Nadya There are worse people out there….Gee think about it 40yrs ago not one person would be bashing you 14 kids was normal!!!

I personally thought invitro was for people who have trouble having kids not people who want book deals and reality shows. Yes their are alot of other large families out the but they have very different situations. The family with 18 kiids it was all natural and the ages are from newborn to late teens or early twenties.and FYI she is already getting government help she has been living off of disability for the last seven years. and she said she will not accept welfare that doesnt include food and medical care. lets not forget EIC and Child Care credits.I know alot of people with masters and even phd’s and they couldn’t afford 14 kids much less in LA. Some one is just crying for attention.

i agree that having 14 kids for a single mother is too much. BUT what gives me or any of us the right to judge her? there are 12 yrs having babies out there because it’s now very hip and “normal” to be sexually active. its funny that people point fingers and say things like “she’s wrong”, “she should be sent to the gaza strip” etc. HOW in the world did race come into this? I thought that America was the land that fought against racisim, terrorisim etc? SO many people like to talk talk and talk! instead of giving her your negativity why don’t people focus on getting crime down? on keep our streets safe? from the way i see it: she isn’t a criminal, she hasn’t broken the law, she hasn’t raped, killed, or robbed anyone! how has this backfired on a woman who wanted kids? she had 14? I can’t believe I am posting about this woman as I too agree she does not deserve any added attention. But this post is hopefully to set good boundaries for what seems to be some people paying attention to all the wrong things. The problem is not that this woman has 14 kids, that she refsed to slectively terminate any of the 8 babies or that she wanted to use all of her frozen embryos. The problem is that she is obviously mentally unstable. And her diagnosis is not known… but mention of various mental health issues and specific diagnosis are cited above. All of which are inaccurate and due to HIPAA are not even verifiable. The ignorance in many of the post perpetuates the problem. So all that really matters is that someone who chose to procreate should not be entitled to much if any tax payer sponsored supplements. And if these children were concieved via IVF then she obviously would be attempting to defraud the system if she applied, sought, or accepted assistance. My problem is with her having IVF which cost around $20-$50K depending on the part of the country, etc. And what … she had one round of IVF, then payed the fees to keep these embryos frozen and then had them all transferred back on the least costly approach of a “fresh transfer” but still too costly for a singel parent of 7, must less an unemployed singel patrent of 7. The situation is a mockery. And giving her or her family any attention is just adding fuel to her desire to seek fame. So what needs to happen is we need to all get over it. No government funding should be provided. Let the bills for her and the kids pile up and once she gets a job… garnish her check to pay off the millions in debt. Oh and CPS needs to have her psychologically evaluated, as I am sure she will be found unfit to raise any if not all of her kids. Oh and her parents need to grow up and quit rescuing her useless butt. They need to tell her to come get her 7 other kids and if not by a certain date then they should file for emergency custody due to abandonment. If they weren’t doing for those kids they would have all already been removed. It is time people… all people were held accountable for themselves and their minor children and all the cost associated with both. The USA is filled with haves and have nots…. but i am fed up with the midddle class paying for the have nots to have more than the working middle class. yeah some people fall on hard times…. and the rest are just stupid, lazy, and selfish people who are out to get whatever they can but doing the least. So enough said… lets all ignore this woman in hopes she will quit seeking fame and in the mean time say prayers that those children get what they need in life despite the beginning they started with.

she’s on dis-ability for a back injury, yet she was healthy enough to physically give birth. She needs the children removed and placed in a safe home instead of being with this nut. She’s getting $600 per child from the state and will get over $1000/month food stamps. Her hospital bill for the kids will be over $1 million, before they even get released from the hospital. Do you all really think she will pay for any of this….Taxpayers you will be paying for this crazy lady. (by her own admission (wanted to kill herself ) what a SHAME and yet i work my but off 20 hour days trying to pay student loans…Nice ehh.

She is not hurting anyone? 3 of her first children have handicaps and she was told each time of that chance. She cannot afford the first 6 children, she IS on social assistance. How do you expect her to take care of 14 of them? What if one or more of these new children have illnesses, I don’t care if she kills herself, but she is harming her children. This women or (Bunny) is insane how the hell do you have 8 more kids if you CANNOT afford to support the 6 she already has???? She gets food stamps of $490 a month plus social disability for 3 of her children already not to mention shell run to the SSA office to get benefits for the children who turn up handicap or ill from the 8 she just had. Shes been on disability for years and lives w/ her parents how in the hell do you get a back injury working in a mental hospital as a counselor??? This women sure knows how to deplete the system!!!! wow… a lot of you guys are truly pathetic. Don’t get me wrong, I disagree with Nadya’s decision. I think children deserve to have at least one parent that can give them as much love and attention a day can offer, and with 14 kids… thats impossible for a child to grow a strong connection with this mom! Pretend Nadya spends an entire day awake spending time with her kids.. so thats 24 hours… her kids would NOT get a full 2 hours to themselves to bond with their mom! i find that absolutely ridiculous!
somebody said something about not being upset about taxpayers paying for her children, because regardless we would continue to pay taxes. But if I’m going to take care of somebody with my tax money i’d rather see that money go to people who desperately need to take care of their kids, who desperately need help to survive. first of all, it is NOT the children’s fault, it is her’s. She chose to commit this crime, and decided to STEAL from the state, and she knows that nobody would punish her (by jail or whatever) because that would be punishing those kids, and maybe even making the parents take care of them and that isn’t right. if i were the californian government i would support her in payments of diapers and formula, so that she couldn’t waste the money on doing this RUDE, HEARTLESS, and SENSELESS thing. in my opinion she is the lowest form of human species, and i hope these kids get famous and it goes straight to them…NOT HER.

I have 2 children of my own and have a baby daddy helping me -LOTS! and I love my children unconditionally and still at times I get fustrated with my day to day life of raising my beautiful children. One day she is gona blow up and probably snap and do something stupid to these kids especially her having psychological problems. Another thing that settlement she got from her WC case that not the total amount she got, there is Dr.’s fees, attorney, court, the plastic surgey, and of course the IVF, etc… with that being said there is no way she will still have that amount of money still left. Anyways she is being selfish she should have raised the children 1st then figure out what to do.

WOW!! Everyone is right here…I agree that everyone have the right to choose how many children they have, provided they are able to financially, emotionally, and physically able to take care of them. These poor babies and their 6 siblings at home! Why would any mother do this? It isn’t right that a woman would have this many children and not feel major guilt for the older siblings that will inevitably be pushed to the side to care for 8 newborns at home. I pray that they will turn out to be productive, happy, healthy members of our society. What a wonderful society we live in to have all of these glorious rights that apply not only to US citizens, but also to ANY person that enters the USA whether legally or illegally. We all have the RIGHT to have as many children as we want but, we also have the RESPONSIBILITY to be able to sufficiently provide for their well being by our own means. Government assistance was meant only to provide temporary help when you fell on hard times. It was not meant to be a way of life.
As for the family….18 and counting…that is featured on tv, please keep in mind that the parents provide all financial means for all their children, they receive no government help.
To the person (people) who keep stressing how much she loves her children…..isn’t that really left to be seen? Just because she had them and “says” she loves them does not mean she has the ability to love them properly. There is the possibility she loves the “idea” of being a mother. After having 6 kids already, if she didn’t feel fullfilled then that suggests she has other issues that will never be fullfilled no matter how many children she has. There is no way she will ever financially be able to care for those children on her own, she is already in debt to start with. As for her “settlement” she received for her back injury that is more than likely depleted since she used it for the IVF. And if she has any of it left, she should be using that to help pay their hospital bill, remember the responsibility thing? According to her own mother she never paid rent or helped provide food for her children….her parents did all that. What kind of job is she going to get that is going to pay her a min. of $2000 a week net pay? Figure it out, this would be the min. she would need to provide basics for a family that size without outside help. And call a daycare to see how much 1 week costs for an infant. She would need an extremely good paying job just to cover the daycare costs, on top of her other job to provide basic needs.

Gender, Religion and Race have nothing to do with this.
It is a moral obligation.
It shows lack of responsibility on the part of some citizens and the media also give unwanted to attention to stories like this as if this is the most pressing issue.
On one side,we talk about budget deficit, health care issues, and unemployment problems. But on the other hand, we are telling stories devoting the entire broadcast on all channels throughout the day.
What are we trying to accomplish here?
How can a single mom, with basically no income support her 14 kids? The doctors are also exploiting the situation to get media attention.

My question is this… she said in the interview with Ann Curry that she was unemployed and going to school but where did she get the money to pay for the IVF? I know that it is VERY expensive each time you have it done so I am baffled by who paid for it. I also want to know why the state of California is not making her take the father to court for child support. I live in Maryland and I know that in order to get any kind of government assistance(ex. food stamps) you have to pursue child support. I think that he should have to help take care of these kids instead of the community and the state.

Yes, there are children out there that we support as taxpayers, but with the economy right now, I rather help out a family who is in need because they got laid off rather than someone like Nadya who chose to bring these children into a world where the economy is already bad. Did anyone see the picture of her son in his room, it is filthy!!!! And she’s supposed to bring eight more babies into this home? But yet she’s getting interviews in TV shows? What she should be doing, is being at home and giving attention to the children at home, instead of getting all of the attention for herself. How in the heck does she “love children” if she’s not even at home with them, (she’s in TV shows) I truley believe that obviously it was her choice to bring these innocent children into this world, then she needs to support them financially, and those websites for donation need to come off immediatley…..

Everyone needs to slow down a bit. Racist remarks are not called for here. It is (as stated in a post already) a moral obligation to those babies. She is not financially fit to raise the 14 kids alone.
The father (donor) cannot be forced into paying child support by the courts if he was just that A DONOR thru a doctors office or bank.
It does appear with everything that i have read, that indeed she may have a mental issue but that is for doctors to decide
I am almost positive, given all the negative attention, that social services (CPS) will get involved..I think we all just need to pray for the children and their health.

I am in my third year as a Psychology major and I have to say this: This woman is clearly mentally handicapped in some capacity. I am disgusted by her. Did anyone see her poor kids on TV talking about how they are already living in a cramped enviroment?? This pisses me off so bad because I work 5 days a week and sometimes the weekend too and I can’t even get medicaid for my children. I practically work to pay for insurance. This woman is full of BS, there is no way you can love your children and not give them a home with space to move around ect. She stated that she is home giving them love and quality time. I bet she sits on her ass all day watching soaps. If you are too lazy to get a job knowing you have children to take care of that is a lack of character. I am a single mother with three children and I go to school, work full time and spend quality time with my children. They lack nothing. Any real parent understands exactly what I am saying. Yes, it was her choice but all choices are not good ones. OBVIOUSLY!

The Dr. needs his license taken away he should not have done the IVF. He knew the situation going in. And there is no way you can tell me this woman has not at least had lip injections. Congratulations, on your new arrivals I wish you the best. I am also really disappointed that you chose to proceed with fertility drugs despite the fact that you were single and unemployed. I work hard everyday for the money I make to pay taxes and social security, but when the economy began to decline when I needed public assistance I was unable to qualify because I work full time. It saddens me to see you purposely having more children knowing your situation, only to live off the blood sweat and tears of other hard working Americans who contribute to this economy. I hope you are happy, and I really hope that you are shameful of these terrible decisions you’ve made. It is pathetic to bring innocent children into this world to suffer and live off of the government only for you need for publicity, greed and to receive handouts. What kind of values does this teach your children? ; That it is ok to overpopulate the earth even though you can’t afford to care for your own children that you brought into the world. I have heard of dead beat dads, but this brings a new meaning to deadbeat Mothers! First of all, I think I speak for the vast majority of people who have left messages in here when I say, ” Sabrina, shut the hell up!” No matter how much your support Nadya, it doesn’t feed or clothe those children.
Any way you slice it, love is not going to pay the bills. Get real, and think logically for one second, I beg of you! And please, Sabrina, no more talk of ignorance, at least not until you admit your own.
The bottom line is, Nadya is unable to support the children, and the best thing for them is to be placed with people who can.

I am still wondering why people keep insisting that just because she gave birth to all these babies that she “clearly loves” them. Now I am not saying that she doesn’t, but I know that if she truly loved the first set of 6 she had, she would have thought twice about having even 1 more.
I’m sorry I am one of those weird parents who believes part of loving my children also means being able to properly provide for them. I love children and never wanted anything more than to be a wife and mother, BUT I didn’t keep popping them off. I have 4 beautiful children (and FYI Sabrina I handle all 4 very well) and would have liked to have more but knew that it was financially STUPID to do so.

After reading the posts above I understand why the world is in the shape it is in! I love all the post about “your” tax $ supporting these children. I guess you prefer your tax $ bailing out the banks, funding the war, funding abortions, the mortgage cheats, or the people that borrowed beyond their means, better yet how about our goverment paying outragous $ for senseless crap or our tax $ can continue to go to other countries… I could go on & on but I think you get the point. Everybody should checkout WallStats.com to see what our tax $ is spent on.
Myself, I would rather have my tax $ help out the less fortunate than have it go towards the $50 million Citigroup bought after being among the beneficiaries of the $700-billion bailout! Or I would you rather see it used in rebuilding iraq after it is destroyed by the war.. Iraqi oil revenues will reach up to $85 billion Iraq is not taking responsibility for its own reconstruction Instead, the U.S. military is footing the reconstruction bill. Or how about our jobs being shipped overseas and our tax dollars… I would think these would be the things the American people would be upset about. Oh did I mention how much it cost to prosicute & house criminals, But I guess we are living in the “ME” world so why would anyone show compassion to another human being just because in “our Minds” they didn’t make good choices. WELL IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY WAY ANYONE SHOULD HAVE CHILDREN , NO MATTER HOW MANY, REGARDLESS OF RELIGION, OR WHATEVER. IS IF THEY ARE GOING TO LOVE THEM AND ARE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM WHILE WORKING AND NOT LIVING , OFF OF THE STATE OR GOVT. OR EVEN THERE FAMILY. I HAVE RAISED MINE BY MYSELF FOR 19 YEARS WITHOUT HELP FROM FATHERS OR FAMILY. WORKING TWO TO THREE JOBS A YEAR. AND I AM 38 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND RAISING TWO GRANDCHILDREN FAITHFULLY. GOD BLESS THESE SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES WHO HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO STRUGGLE WITH DAY-TO-DAY LIFE AND PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK.

The real issue is not whether this woman has the rights or not to have all these children. But, why the hell I as a tax payer forced to foot the bills for her personal actions? I limited myself to only one child due to worry about not being able to financially support any more kids. Why should I be paying for the irresponsibility of someone else?
On a related issu, in California, we tax payers are footing the huge medical bills running in the billions of dollars due to illegal immigrants who get free medical treatment. Our state is going broke due to these illegals. I don’t know if Suleman is illegal or not, but we should find out. My bet is she is an illegal alien to make matters worse for us.
