Wu didn’t know his dress was going to be worn. Obama did do a fitting for Wu along with other designers. But Jason thought he was a long shot. And he found out only after Michelle walked out to cameras last night on television. Imagine that excitement!

WU is 26-year-old, from Taipei and lives in New York. Jason Wu has something in common with Isabel Toledo who did Michelle’s Inauguration dress.

2. Both previously designed for Michelle at New York events in 2008.

Wu designed for Michelle for a November 2008 Barbara Walters New York interview, and Toledo for a Calvin Klein 2008 New York charity event.
