More details are in about the M/S Nautica and its Somalia pirate attack. Oceania Cruises’ M/S Nautica was carrying 1,000 people with the Oceania Nautica was shot by Somalia pirates in the Gulf of Aden on Sunday.

The pirate boats were reportedly speedboats says maritime executives today. But the speedboats weren’t as fast as the Nautica which outrun the bandits.

Oceania Cruises Inc. has confirmed in a statement on its website the boat shot at Sunday was one of its own - M/S Nautica - at that eight rifle shots were cast at the luxury liner. 

No injuries or damage to the boat resulted.
