Larry Langford, Birmingham’s mayor, has been arrested! Larry Langford has been arrested says Fox 6 on Federal charges moments ago. Langford was brought into custody at 6 am local time.

However, FBI reps are not indicating the nature of Langford’s charges.

Fox 6 reports the following:

“The federal charges come as the Securities and Exchange Commission is suing Langford, William Blount and Al LaPierre. The SEC filed the lawsuit against Langford, Blount and LaPierre on April 30th for more than $150,000 in payments Langford received while serving on the Jefferson County Commission.”

Langford has denied the charges and is expected to release a statement moments from now.
