Abraham Biggs PHOTO

PICTURE. Here’s a photo of Abraham Biggs, the teen who tragically committed suicide on internet on Justin TV (Justin.tv). Abraham Biggs’s suicide live on the web was first broke by LALATE NEWS early yesterday.

Now new details are coming in about Biggs’ tragic end.
Abraham Biggs was 19 from Pembroke Pines which is near Miami. We now know that Biggs overdosed on anti-depressive drugs, but sadly remained comatose online for hours via webcam live, until he tragically passed.
Abraham was reportedly studying to be a paramedic. He sadly suffered from mental illness.
”My son, Abraham Biggs Jr, was well-loved and cared for. However, the mental illness of bipolarity and depression got the better part of him,” his mom wrote on MySpace.
Horrible.

I wanted to take the time to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Abraham. Losing someone is never easy and when that person has yet to have a chance to fully live, such a loss is expounded. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and I ask that others who heard or read about this unfortunate situation do the same. This is not and was not humorous or entertaining.

RIP, yes. Sympathy, no. The guy got what he wanted. What’s there to grieve about that?

Tragedy is when a loved one is murdered, tragedy is when it is out of our hands. He chose to die, personally I don’t see the tragedy. He was an adult and he made a free decision.

I wish I could have reached out. He lived not too far from me. It’s always tragic when someone chooses to end their life – regardless of the circumstances. Billy Joel wrote a song many years ago called ‘ Second Wind’ detailing his tryst with clinical depression and the subsequent treatment he received. I believe Abraham mistakenly believed someone would come to his aid. The best we can hope for is that for those that could have made a difference and choose not to – this untimely death will provide them the opportunity to err next time on the side of caution. It did not have to end this way.
If someone you know tells you they want to end their lives – contact the authorities. 1-800-SUICIDE.
My condolences to his family.
