Placerita Canyon is now being hit by a fire. The Sayre Fire has spread into Placerita Canyon. Placerita Canyon Fire details are the following:

As of 2 pm PST, the Sayre Fire in Sylmar has spread north into Santa Clarita Valley and Placerita Canyon.

Meantime, the Sylmar fire has not spread south in San Fernando Valley.

Freeways affected by the Sylmar Fire on Saturday are now reopened with the exception of the 210 Freeway at Roxford Street.

Shelters for Sylmar Fire at Kennedy, San Fernando and Chatsworth High Schools are expected to be closed.
