1,000 homes are threatened tonight, 9 PM PST, by the Freeway Fire Complex Fire - the name being given to the combined Orange County Fires of Corona, Yorba Linda, Brea, and Anaheim Hills.

Tonight firefighters are expecting low humidity, high winds, a deadly combo for the region. Humidity around 5% and winds above 30 mph, is the fear.

Aerial assault has been stopped until daybreak Sunday. Meantime tonight the fire is now jumping back and forth over the 91 Freeway.

Location - North of subdivision near Valencia Avenue at Carbon Canyon Road, fire blockage established north of Whistle Train Road

Brea Mandatory Evacuations from Brea Officials:

“Mandatory evacuations have been ordered by the Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Sheriff in the area near the Brea fire. The Olinda Ranch area of Brea, at Valencia Avenue and Lambert Road, is being evacuated under mandatory orders. Persons living in a much-larger area are also being urged to evacuate, as homes in the area east of State College Boulevard and north of Lambert Road are in the voluntary evacuation area.”
