So when Xtina is asked about the issue by the LA Times this week, Aguilera says she doesn’t really know who Gaga is. Her excuse? She doesn’t really use the internet. How Beyonce of her!
TIMES: What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?
AGUILERA: You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.”
Ironically, Beyonce’s also told the LA Times this week she wants to be the next Wonder Woman. And the online reaction to that - horrible. Did Beyonce not read that online either?

I first heard Lady Gaga a couple months back and thought when her voice went high, she sounded a lot like Christina. Tonight, I just saw a Target commercial and totally thought it was Lady Gaga. But obviously, being that it was actually Christina, I hit the web to see if there were any comparisons. Turns out there is! Christina has a voice like no other, so I was a little shocked by the need to borrow so closely. But hey Madonna did some of that later on in her career (doesn’t make it right), but also most of Lady Gaga’s “look” is ALL borrowed–everything she does is in homage to some other group/band/artist - Queen, David Bowie, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Paris is Burning, and even Madonna. Lady Gaga isn’t an original in creating content, but she is original in how she combines what she borrows. Much of her style is carryover from electroclash and very reminiscent of artists W.I.T. and Peaches…

Im going to make this very short and quite simple. I heard lady Gaga’s song “Just Dance” a few days ago and I loved it but I also thought it was christina aguilera. When I heard her on Kiis fm 102.7 last night I decided to google a picture and honestly she is sealing Christina’s look as much as others but the most noticed look is christina’s. They both sound great but lets face it lady gaga is no christina aguilera.

christina has always re-invented herself, but im sorry Lady Gaga came out with her style and then a month or so later christina came out with the same look! i would really care because people steal looks and styles all the time but when they question christina she said “i amcompletely unaware of this person” and even “I don’t know if it [Lady GaGa] is a man or a woman”!!! First, Who in the hell is lady gaga? Second, All i kno is that she has a song out, and that she has a pretty good voise. Third, Christina sings WAY better than Lady Gaga.

But if you really ask me, they are both singers doing what they love most, it shouldn’t matter what they look like or what their styles are, they both can sing so whatever……. Truth is, Lady GaGa has been doing her thing in NYC since like 2005 and her style has always been to wear basically underwear and stripper-like clothes as well as shiny outfits. Christina definitely stole from Lady GaGa but it doesn’t matter. In that business, whatever is hot is what the others copy to some extent, right down to the music itself. I think Lady GaGa has something good going fer her and I love the beats. She’s young & people like her music so I’m sure more will copy her.

I like the Gaga’s music. Not really into her look. Christina will always be way hot. She can be classy or trashy and still look cute and will continue to be that way even after gaga is gone and even after 6 kids.

HAHAHAHA sucked in to all of you who doubted lady gaga. she is kickin all your asses. she has already made HISTORY as the first debut artist to have 4 number 1 radio singles off a debut album. Christina can sing, but man she wouldn’t be who she is without her army of writers and designers and stylists telling her what is cool. Lady gaga comes up with her own look and more importantly, music from her brain. yes thats right. Its born in her head. Just like the good old days before songwriters came along and did everything for ‘recording artists’….
