AUDIO! Listen to Russell Brand’s Andrew Sachs BBC voicemails. Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left the voicemail messages during the BBC’s state funded broadcast. That resulted, as reported by LALATE to you earlier today, in both being “indefinitely suspended” by the BBC.

Late today news that Russell Brand has quit the BBC Radio, a show that attracted 2 million listeners per week.

Brand has issued this statement:

“As I only do the radio show to make people laugh, I’ve decided that given the subsequent coverage I will stop doing the show. I got a bit caught up in the moment and forgot that at the core of the rude comments and silly songs were the real feelings of a beloved and brilliant comic actor and a very sweet and big-hearted young woman.”

The BCC received 18,000 complaints about the broadcast.
