William Balfour is in custody following the killings of Darnell Hudson Donerson, Hudson’s mother, and Jason Hudson, Hudson’s brother.
As of Saturday morning, Hudson’s nephew is still missing.

I really feel the sister knows what is going on, she is too calm and its not in shock because a person will not be speaking as calm as she is if your child is missing and your mother and brother were killed in the same house you slept in last night. and to report her son is missing but did she check with the school and see was he there. I feel this is a tragedy for all people, but I must stress this especially to my black familys who is currently living through this hidden nightmare everyday in our communities. I do understand that God could only judge us, but he didn’t make his disciples no dummies either. This guy has a record from here to Idaho and at least 25 percent of his life spend behind bars for crimes that should not of been taken lightly. I know for growing up in the mean streets of New york, that there are some young black males that shouldn’t be in jail today, but I also have to admit that there are alot of them that should be. There are a lot of “young girls” in our community or better yet some women with “low self esteem” who get involved with these “degenerate” men because they feel these men really care for them or they think its “cool”. The crime is, especially in this unfortunate situation….is that they find out a little bit to late and they let there young,dumb,low self esteem,selfesh motivation ruin not only there life, but there family lifes like your mother,brother and little children who has nothing to do with ignorant adults decisions….May God bless the Hudson family and may we as a people find a purpose through God for this senseless tragedy….and to William Balfour, if you did this thoughtless evil act and your reading this blog…I will never wish bad on you, but I am a firm believer like the bible sez….You will weep what you sow….May God have mercy on your soul…..

I really feel bad for Jennifer. I pray for her family and friends to get throught this terrible time. I hate to say it though but rumor has it that Hudson’s brother was in the drug game for a very long time. I have 2 friends that went to school with both the Hudson sibling’s. I was wondering if this was some sort of failed ransom attempt or if money was owed to someone and thats why Julian came up missing? Not trying to judge but I NEVER believe the media. You always get the real truth in the streets of Chicago…always. if the suspected killer is at fault…he’ll get what he deserves. They show no love in jail for child killers.

I am not sure if you did this william, I am not here to judge anyone. All I know is that a good family has been destroyed because of one evil person. No one deserved this, especially that little boy julian. How could someone hurt a child as innoscent as him. Not only that, but also kill someones mother and brother. I am very sorry that such a tragedy could happen to this young rising star or anyone. We as black people should support and love each other. I really donj’t understand how people can live in a community and accept violence as a normal way of life. Neigbors should be neighborly.Where’s the love and respect amongst our brethren. Hearing gunshots in your hood should alert someone to call the police or spark your interest in knowing where it came from. Better yet, was someone harmed in the process. Neighbors should look out for each other. There must be some coldblooded people in Chicago. And they say NYC is bad. Not all! If this person they call Flex is guilty, he will indeed suffer. If not I wonder if there’s a possibility that the police is considering whether a deranged fan or possibly an ex-boyfriend of Jennifer Hudson’s who had a grudge to settle. Clearly, it doesn’t matter who committed this heinous act. I just hope justice prevail. My heart and prayers goes out to the family\friends. When I heard the news about the slayings, I cried as if it was my own family members. For that reason, I don’t know how some people can respond so negatively to this situation. Do people really think this man is in custody reading these comments? NOT!!! However, regarding the suburban making it to 13th & Kolin, some witnesses did see it there as early as Saturday. Although others did not, it does not mean it was not there. Also, even if someone drove it there later, perhaps they were also involved. I hate to convict without evidence, but all evidence thus far leads straight to William Balfour. His mom says he was in touch with she and her daughter all day Friday, and didn’t do it. Just as we don’t know he did do it, how does she know he didn’t? No one mentioned whether the contact with his mom and sister was in person or by phone. Anybody can talk on a cell phone several times a day after committing crimes. If mom is the alibi, she should state, “he was with me all day”. She has not done that. Balfour’s alibi of being with his girlfriend, conflicts with his girlfriends statements to the police. He recently threatened to take Julian. Why? That’s not even his child. He intended to antagonize Julia, and did just that-if he is guilty. He was kicked out of the house by Jennifer’s mom. Jennifer’s brother was the man of the house. Little Julian was obvious home at the time of the murders, and could identify the person who did it. The thought of having someone you know, shoot you in cold blood-especially a poor innocent 7-year old, is just the sickest thing anyone could do. Then, the suburban is found a couple of miles from where Balfour was arrested, and where the girlfriend lives. In addition, Balfour stops talking to police. The incident has already been deemed domestic related. This is not a puzzle that needs piecing together. Whomever did it will be caught, won’t be able to sleep at night, nor function during the day; so they might as well just fess up as quickly as possible, and end the suspense. People are so stupid-always threatening people, and boasting about what they are going to do to others; but, when it is time to pay the consequences is when we learn (too late) to shut the hell up. If Balfour didn’t do it, his previous actions and words framed himself to appear that he did. If someone else is framing him, maybe this will be a lesson to others to shut up and keep your plans to yourself.

Honestly, I hope that everyone gives this brother a fair chance. If he is found guilty by FACTUAL evidence (ie DNA, fingerprints)… then off with his head!… but give this brother a fair chance to be PROVEN guilty by FACTUAL EVIDENCE.
If the evidence is found that he is not guilty, I think the world will owe this man an apology because his life has been ruined!
If the brother (Jason) was selling drugs out of the house…. then this could be the main issue.
We have to be really careful, the cops have an easy target here (with the help of the media)…. the cops are not pressured to answer to the public about who committed these horrific murders… I pray that all evidence points to who exactly did this, and that this doesn’t come down to “hey, he has the record… so he’s the easiest to pin this on”

Are some of you people serious? I mean, reading some of your posts, its no wonder crime is so rampant today (I mean, there’s a direct link between low education and crime, people…) First off, the past tense of SEE is SAW, Christy…. No, about the matter at hand:
To all of you passing judgement, be careful. I am following this case just like most of the country, and yes, I feel terrible that this tragedy happened to anyone. The fact that it happened to Jennifer Hudson, a celebrity, doesn’t make it any better or worse. However, I dare not pass judement on anyone, because that is left up to God. I agree that the sister made poor choices, but hell, what woman hasn’t? I’m a black, highly educated female maikng over $75,000 a year, yet I tend to attract and choose the wrong type of man (ok, so I don’t go as far as choosing thugs with extensive criminal records, but I still have made some BAD choices!) The fact that Julia is over weight is insignificant! SHE MADE A BAD DECISION WHETHER SHE”S FAT OR SKINNY! Should she have put the welfare of her child before her need for a man? Hell yeah! But NO ONE can sit in judement and condem her to the the extent that we say she should be held accountable for her poor judement….I’m sure she will have MANY sleepless nights where she will repeatedly question her role in bringing this man into her family).
Maybe there’s nothing we can do to ease Jennifer Hudson’s family’s pain right now. But perhaps we can use this tragedy to re-evaluate how we respond to crime in our own neighborhoods and start there.
I think we all need to come together and make a vow to stop looking the other way when we see things happen for fear of retaliation or simply not wanting to get involved. Its time we all step up and take our communities back. People like William Balfour shouldn’t be allowed to terrorize people without fear of being turned in. I agree, somone saw or knows something in this case. People need to step up and speak out, NOT because its JHud’s famuly, but because its the right thing to do.
So for all of you out there with so much to say, start puttin your money where your mout is and step up!

Let’s not jump to conclusion. William is just an easier target for the DA and policeman to get anyone they can to say they have the murderer.
You see when you are not educated and doing nothing with your life(no job), just riding in the streets all day, the man in blue is looking for you.
I believe William and Julia know something about this and are not talking.
I don’t care how hard it may be I am going to identify my child because it’s mine!! Nobody can identify my child but me..
William may have been going to warn them and things got rough. To me it looks like a drug hit, because they killed the family and children. In CA. a drug dealer killed a 9 month old child the same way. He killed the father first and walked outside and shot the infant in the head as he sat in the car.
These killings leaves a message, no matter how awful it is there was a sick message left behind these killings!
We may never find out who actually did this unless someone starts to talk.

have 2 theories. One surrounds Julia, the other, Jason. For those of you who have blinders on and want to treat Julia like the innocent victim- fine with me. However, as far as I’m concerned there were three victims and they’re no longer here to tell their stories. The most defenseless victim, Julian, a poor little 7 year old boy who suffered the most unimaginable fate, witnessed the brutal killings of his grandmother and uncle before being shot twice in the head. We must fight for this child and if this means by exposing his mother- then so be it. I come from a realistic world where unfortunately, mothers sometimes murder their children or contribute to their demise. This is my opinion and if you’re one of those people who live in untainted worlds, I ask you to move to the next post because this will probably upset you.
Theory 1: Julia Hudson’s Involvement
There are too many holes in this story:
1)The body of Jennifer Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson was found by Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia around 2:45 PM Friday. Julia called 911 to report the shooting. She also reported her 7-year-old son missing. Police arriving on the scene found Hudson’s brother Jason shot to death in a bedroom.- okay I got this from CNN. My question is how could she report her son missing if she never went through the house? She claimed to have walked in the door, and after seeing her mother’s body in the living room, left out the house and called 911. She then went to the police station to report Julian missing. How did she know he was missing and not hiding in the house or somewhere murdered in the home? Apparently, the police discovered her brother’s body- she did not. As I said, she only made it to the front door.
2)Friday was a teacher’s work day in Chicago. Therefore, children did not report. Julia is a school bus driver. Why was she working then? If her son didn’t have school, she shouldn’t have had to work. All Chicago schools are basically charter schools. Another caveat: How did she get home if Jason was her ride?
3)Police have stated that Jason Hudson was shot when the gunman shot through the front door. He also received defensive wounds. However, his body was found in an upstairs bedroom. If you’ve seen a picture of him- he was no small guy. William, a man of small stature, could not have taken him upstairs alone. If Jason was shot in the thigh, he would have needed a very large person to help him upstairs. I always wondered in that type of area, shouldn’t they have a gun in the home?
4)Shell casings were found in Julian King’s bedroom, yet police are saying he was killed in the SUV.
5) The small bullet only went through the wooden door, so the door should have still been locked. How did the killer get in? If he shot at the door first, who in their right mind would have opened it for him?
6)Why didn’t they come at night when most murders occur? The whole family would’ve been there, and they could’ve killed everyone.
7)Sure, the police could’ve been monitoring Julia’s MySpace, but I doubt it. This is more along the lines of the FBI and they didn’t jump aboard until late Saturday. I’m sorry, but I just can’t imagine with your mother and brother being tragically killed, and your son missing, the last thing I’d be thinking about is the damn computer. And if it was her on the computer, and William was a suspect, why did she keep him as her #2 friend? His *ss would’ve been gone with a quickness. Why did she feel the need to explain her actions on Myspace yesterday? Why has she been seeking support from her fans on Myspace when I’m sure she’s surrounded by family and friends who love her? I’m sure her closest friends/family know how to reach her. Is she enjoying her newly found celebrity status? To live in the shadows of a famous little sister. All eyes are on you now Julia. A word of advice- ask Jen for some acting lessons- your performance to date isn’t Oscar worthy. My little cousin was gunned down a few years ago in Detroit and my Aunt joined a support group for grieving mothers. She said during her meeting yesterday, the women unanimously agreed that something wasn’t right about Julia Hudson- even the grief counselor said that she’s exhibiting questionable behavior for a grieving mother.
8)Her appearance at the press conference was a little too calm and collected for me. Her hair was fly, she looked pretty well-rested, and she said Julian was more “like a little brother?”
9)On Friday night when Julian was missing, why was she on Myspace instead of in someone’s car driving around the city looking for the white Suburban? The first 48 hours are the most crucial with missing children, and you’re chilling on the computer? WTF?
I pray that I’m wrong. Lord, I do. I just can’t imagine a mother being involved in something like this, which is why I’ve held back on posting this. But something isn’t adding up. If they had something on William, they would’ve charged him. I think they’re trying to get William on technicalities.
Theory 2: Jason Hudson’s Involvement
Jason Hudson has had a few run ins with the law. Perhaps he owed some people some money and they were coming after him. I’m not sure what Ms. Donnerson’s schedule would’ve been like on a regular school day and what time Julian went to school. Maybe she normally took him to school, and didn’t come home from dropping him off until around 9:30. If the killers had been watching the house all week, and noticed this pattern, maybe they didn’t expect to find Mrs. Donnerson and Julian there on Friday. I mean, it wasn’t like it was a major holiday. This would’ve explained a few things:
1)Why Jason went from being shot downstairs to going upstairs in his bedroom. Did he have something in his bedroom that the killers wanted? Otherwise, why did they let him walk upstairs instead of shooting him in cold blood like they did his mother?
2)They weren’t expecting to see Julian. I think this may have really posed a problem for them as they struggled with what to do with him and the person couldn’t bear to kill a 7 year old kid. I mean, they had enough heart not to kill the dog- but then again the dog can’t talk. Whoever killed Jason and his mother probably didn’t kill Julian- they got someone else to.
The sad thing is, this poor boy witnessed the murder and became a liability.

Why are they still holding William if they have not charged him? Because they have no reason to charge him. I don’t believe he’s the one and the authorities are wasting time and placing miles between them and the real murderer.

some of these people have some stupid answers on here they just stupid man come on are ya’ll serious man that nigga went to that house the mother let him in he kiilled the mother an the brother cause he wanted2 make julia mad he knew she wasn’t there an he knew that would of piss her off by killing the mother an the brother otherwise he could of waited til julia got home,he knew exactly what he was doing,he wanted her to feel the way that he felt angry,even the guy on the news said that he had anger issues. i mean come on now who else would have a motive to kill a family like that than he took the little boy lil julian went out the back took the brothers car called his boy told him about it. maybe smoked some weed or got drunk chiiled for while in that car, maybe the little boy was cryin an scared cause he knew that he had killed his grandma an uncle so he had to kill the little boy so no evidence would be found then he dispose of the gun wiping off his finger prints while the other guy went his way an william went to his girlfriend house as a cover up,so if the police ask him where he been he’d say i just left my girlfriend house you already have her as a witness that he just left there.so yessss/I believe he did it because as you watch real life t.v you see it all the time I think that he was angry the mother put him out an the brother probably didn’t really care for him an the lil boy was a witness,an julia had a boyfriend when already they were married you all no that a mann can’t take being hurt so he wanted her to feel his pain,his life was already nothing so already he had nothing to lose,once a person been in jail there not scared to go back especially if they been ther mostly all there life an thats from experience now I believe thats the truth,want goes in the dark going to come to the light.Its no doubt in my mind that he didn’t do it then he confessed to his girlfriend to come on dude,either the guilt going to come out,or he confesses or the person he was with is going to tell,both of them conscious is going to eat them up really,really,really bad somebody is going to tell somebody especially him if he’s already talkin to his girlfriend that’s why? I don’t think he did it. I also believe our legal system is set up to proove it. I hear remarks that because he was arrested he did it. How did the sports van end up where it did while he was still in jail? Freinds? Then who are they? My son has threatened his girl in anger and has a record and can be quite the little jerk. God forbid something happens to his current girl and he is blamed because of his attitude and past actions. Has anyone threatened to kill another in anger? Think about this. Not enough to say he murdered anyone. Usually a person kills the one who hurts them emotionally, not wait until they leave for work then kill the family. Makes no sense. His past and upbringing or threats makes no case for murder. They don’t even know if the gun relates to him. What if the family was into something no one knows about. Guess it is better in america to nail an easy case than solve a difficult one. I am not convinced they have the right guy.

thats really fucked up how everybody judging this guy.on some real shit i dont think he did it.how is he gonna kill little julian while he was in jail?it doesnt make since and u people out here shouldnt be so quick to judge.who r u? he is innocent i think and it all will come to the light and i guess then u will be looking dumb.so keep ur head up william everthing will turn out ok..and the police really need to be lookin for the real murderer instead of tryin to find the first person they could to be responsible instead they shoud be doing a real investigation and tryin to find the real killer..whats up wit dat shit?
