Michael Pigott, a New York City officer, killed himself today, only days after a September 24 ordering to shoot at Iman Morales with a stun gun. Morales is allegedly mentally ill; after being stun shot Morales fell to his death.

“On behalf of all of the members of the New York City Police Department, I extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lt. Michael W. Pigott who served with dedication for 21 years,” Raymond W. Kelly, Police Commissioner, said today in a statement.

Officer Pigott had said following Morales’ dead that he was “truly sorry for what happened”. He made that statement the day before he killed himself.
