Lino Donato has been removed as mayor of a south Texas town. Lino Donato is not any mayor - he’s “a registered sex offender”. Lino Donato was removed “as mayor, hours after … [being] released from jail on new …. charges.”

“It is time that the city of Poteet get off the radar scope as being highlighted with problems,” Councilman Allen Buck said. “This is an outstanding city.”

Donato is out on $200,000 bail facing charges reportedly for conduct with a girl “younger than 14″.

Donato’s attorney is on appeal for a previous set of charges and claims Donato is innocent of the new charges.

Poteet is near San Antonio, Texas. No comment by Donato to today’s developments.
