George Putnam DEAD

George Putnam, famed Los Angeles news anchored, anchor of Talk Back, is dead. Funeral arrangements for George Putnam who died today have not been announced.
Putnam’s death was near Los Angeles at a Chino hospital.
Putnam began in radio and then headed to TV. For over 25 years, George Putnam anchored the best of Los Angeles news stations – KTTV, KCOP, KTLA and KHJ, which is now KCAL.
Also, to Rose Parade fans, you will remember that Putnam has appeared for 50 years on his horse in the Rose Parade.
Putnam lived and died on his working ranch in Chino that has delivered Kentucky Derby horses. He also was a proud resident of Beverly Hills here for 57 years.
Putnam was known as host of ‘Talk Back’, a radio show he has anchored since 1975.
Putman was one of the first syndicated national radio host in America. He was recently being treated for issues with liver and kidneys.
One of the greats of Los Angeles news, and news syndication, has left us.

A truly honest, decent, patriotic, caring man. Admired by millions he will be deeply missed. Certainly a proud member of “The Greatest Generation”!! R.I.P.
