West will be the final act for the Sunday performance on the Paramount Pictures lot. Just a year ago, Kanye West said he would never return to the VMAs.

So much for that.

West was furious in 2007 that Britney Spears opened the show. Kanye said MTV had “exploited Britney in helping to end her career,” and said he “got betrayed” by MTV by not being given the lead stage.
