Here’s a pop quiz for LALATE Clay Aiken fans. The Raleigh Telegram says Clay Aiken appeared last Friday night on “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader”.

The paper writes: “RALEIGH - Well known singer Clay Aiken of Raleigh appeared on a national game show, winning $300,000 for his charity, the Bubel-Aiken Foundation on Friday night. The special celebrity edition of the “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader” game show, hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, aired on the Fox network on Friday night, August 29th.”
The story ran by the local paper today says Aiken was on the show last Friday.
So the quiz of LALATE pop quiz of the day is - did Clay Aiken appear on the show last Friday? No cheating!

…. nope. The paper is wrong. That show was a rebroadcast from 2007. Here’s the video below.

I loved Clay on that show
he did an amazing job and was so great with the kids!!! I’m glad he did so well for The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (working toward the inclusion of all kids).

Yeah, it was a rerun, but it was still fun to watch. Clay raised a lot of money for his Foundation. He is a smart man and knew when to “fold ‘em.”

Clay did guess the correct answer for the last question, but he did not want to take a chance losing $300,000 that could do so much to help disadvantaged kids. He’s a smart man. He won the most money out of all the celebrity guests, and more than most of the contestants on that show. His former teacher sure had nice things to say about him, as well as Jeff Foxworthy at the end of the show–(paparaphrasing here) “….you’re a man of character and a quality human being.”
