Earlier this week, Spears’ manager Larry Rudolf said that Spears will not be “performing” (aka singing and dancing) at the VMAs but will appear on the show. New reports say that Spears will open the VMAs as she has done for several years.

Couple that with new rumors that Phelps’ appearance on the VMA is tied to Britney Spears, that could in essence mean that Phelps will appear in the opener with Spears.

Of course, none of this truly adds up right. Spears’ is nominated for “Piece of Me”. And with all the other nominees reportedly performing, who is going to perform her song, and when? No one?

Despite Larry Rudolph’s statements, LALATE still believes that Spears will “appear” for Piece of Me on the outside stage with the Jonas Brothers. When and where Michael Phelps will appear is still anyone’s guess.
