An 6.1 earthquake has hit Vancouver! LALATE has the details on the 6.1 earthquake hitting west of Vancouver Island moments ago. The earthquake hit near Port Hardy but will not cause a tsunami.

The earthquake 6.1 was centered in the Pacific Ocean west of Vancouver Island. The earthquake hit at 5:37 local time about 500 miles west of Vancouver and 100 miles west of Port Hardy.The Emergency Management British Columbia says the is nothing to worry about and is not unusual.

It’s location is too far out to cause any damage says initial reports.
