Recently, Selena told Teen Magazine:

“People probably didn’t think I would get far because of where I’m from,” says Selena. “Being able to do what I’ve always wanted to do my entire life is a gift, and my whole dream has come true. To see where I am, from where I was, is just crazy.”

Selena Gomez also reveals this month that her TV character gets a boyfriend next season.

Daniel Samonas plays that character for season 2 of the Wizards of Waverly Place. “His name is Dean and he’s very cute. He’s going to be a big part of season two.” Selena says her character Alex has “grown up a lot. She’s a lot quicker with her magic, has a whole new wardrobe and now that she has a boyfriend, you’ll see more mature side of her.”
