Dara Torres SURGERY!
Dara Torres is in surgery! Dara Torres off her 3 silver medals at the Beijing Olympic Games had surgery on her shoulder today. Dara Torres’ surgery is for a distal clavicle resection she has suffered from since the 2000 Olympics.
Torres has earned 12 Olympic medals during her lifetime.
The surgery is to repair damage to her right shoulder.The procedure involves the shaving the outer end of the collarbone.
Her doctor told CNN: “Dara had surgery in November 2007 to remove bone spurs and repair a partial tear in her rotator cuff. She was doing quite well, but over time she developed this degenerative arthritis problem in the AC joint.”
“There’s immediate relief after the surgery and recovery is quite quick.”
