60 acres have burned near Malibu Creek State Park in the region just south of the Ventura Freeway. No homes have been lost but people are under evacuation (3:30 PM PST).
The fire is 60% contained.
Homes are most threatened on Liberty Canyon and Mountain Shadows.
Neighboring streets are under current voluntary evacuation. The first broke out short after noon here in Los Angeles at Malibu Creek State Park.
Ramps at Liberty Canyon off the 101 are reportedly closed.
With horrible heat today in Los Angeles, several small fires have been breaking out, including one momentarily in Griffith Park.
